This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default The Outfit Problem in Riverview
Does anyone know what's going on with or how to fix the outfit glitch for Norman Joy and Hope Carpenter from Riverview? They're both suppose to be wearing overalls for their everyday wears, but instead they're wearing something completely different.

Hope Carpenter

Norman Joy

This is what there everyday wear was suppose to be

Hi

I also have this issue sometimes and I think this scenario often happens when the sims have changes in Career or Outdoor outfits and then they switch to Everyday outfit. That's supposed to be normal, atleast for me.

I suppose you have these Nraas mods:

1) Recover their outfits manually with MC > Stylist or with "testingcheatsenasbled true" cheat and then Edit in CAS. But if this clothing item is missing from the catalog, you may have to reinstall Riverview.

2) Reset those two sims via MasterController(MC) : Nraas > MC > Advanced > Reset Sim, or reset the whole town: City Hall > Nraas > MC > Town > Reset Everything

3) Clean bad outfits via DebugEnabler(DB): Nraas > DB >Options: Sim (or whatever) > Outfits > Clean Bad Outfit.

4) Click on random object > Nraas > DB >Options: <object name> Fix Invisible Sims . That also recovers their outfits.

Edit: In MC Stylist you can also delete the additional outfits, that are generated by the game by category, if you think they are not needed.

Hi, thanks for responding , I've tried all your options before except for 4 ( which I will try as soon as I open my game). The outfit isn't missing for neither elder M/F for me, and that's why I don't understand why they're not wearing the overalls. I've went into Nraas MC > Stylist with both Norman Joy and Hope Carpenter, trying to see what's going on, but no luck. My guess is the creators must have made a new pair of elder overalls and deleted the original pair that Norman and Hope were wearing, so when we play in Riverview, they're both wearing something else. Idk, that's just my guess. I did go into Nraas MC > Stylist, put them both in overalls, and colored it the best I could to match the pictures. I just hate when I put them in overalls (like they're suppose to be wearing), they lose their sim thumbnail. For their sim thumbnail, they're actually in overalls even though they're not wearing the overalls, but only when they're both wearing their everyday wears. When they change to a different outfit, their sim thumbnail changes to what they're actually wearing for their everyday wear.
You've said you have this issue sometimes? Do you know how you sometimes don't because I have this problem every time I open my game and go to Riverview.

This scenario might happen when the game genarates new pair of Work outfits after promotion, Outdoors outfit change, and after that sims change their outfit to Everyday immediately after that change, all without being the active sim or the active household.

Or this could be a bug related to Riverview store content clothing pairs.

Edit: This could be a bug related to some of the EPs, perhaps Seasons because of the introduction of Outdoor outfits.

Edit 1: Did you have the OG version of Riverview or the decrapified one?

Edit 2: This could be a bug related to some of the EPs that you have, perhaps Seasons idk? I also have Seasons installed.

I'm not sure, I honestly didn't know their were 2 different versions of Riverview. I downloaded the version on the sims 3 store page.

By decrappified I mean run through so called "sims 3 recompressor" program that might fix issues related to the store content, but I've never used it before and I don't know it's actually working.

I also have the official Riverview from EAs site, but I was just asking if you have the decrappified one.

So how is going on with the clothing issue - did Norman and Hope have their Everyday outfit changed after the fix?

Sadly no, only when I put them in overalls.
When I load up Riverview, they're still wearing the wrong outfit for their Everyday wear.

There is a setting in Overwatch, where the mod cleans outfits: City Hall > Nraas > Overwatch > Settings > Clean up Outfits. I don't know how useful it is, but in my game it's turned on.

In MC Stylist check how many outfits per category there are, and delete them if there are excess number.

Try to use a save cleaner for the save files. Clean cache files after every game, that are in Sims 3 documents folder.

Tried your idea with Nraas Overwatch, and unfortunately, it didn't work. I've already checked their outfits in MC Stylist, they don't have any extra outfits. I cleaned my cache files, it also didn't work.

But did you tried to use a save cleaner?

Also try to make a new copy of Riverview save, saved under new name.

If you didn't make changes to these sims, you can borrow them from freshly created Riverview save and bring them to your current save etc. to replace current ones with their copies from a clean, non-modified Riverview save.

Yes, I used save cleaner. I never made any changes to them, their everyday wear was always like this from day one when I first downloaded Riverview. If I go to a freshly created Riverview, they'll still be wearing the wrong outfit for their everyday.

That's strange...

Then you may have to reinstall Riverview, this time with newly downloaded copy from the site (it's good that the world is free to download and use).

It's better to reinstall store content all at once for cleaner result. Don't forget to erase everything from DCCache after uninstalling them.

After installing them again, go to DCCache again and clean only the files with .tmp extension and the file "missingdepx" if it appears.

In DCBackup clean all packages except "ccmerged"

I've tried that too, I did that a few years ago and it also didn't work.

I have an idea, you said you sometimes have this issue.
So sometimes, for your game in Riverview, both Norman and Hope are wearing overalls correct?

Yes I had this issue once or twice, but I manually recover them after them being broken.

But when I started my Riverview save for the first time their Everyday outfits were how they are supposed to be.

I checked out your profile and saw you're familiar with modding, could you add your Norman and Hope to modthesims. I'm hoping that if I download them, maybe it'll fix the issue.

Forgot to tell u, I've tried option 4, and it didn't work.

Can u share your Norman and Hope to the sims 3 store website? Maybe that could also fix the issue.
