Default Splitting a previously merged package
Hello. I used to play the Sims 3 when it was first released, and the previous Sims games before that.
My CDs are long gone, so lately I bought the digital version of all the EPs.
I still have all the custom content I downloaded all these years back, and what I did back then was merging them all together.
I loaded one of these large . package files and it works wonderfully, but I don't like some of the items anymore. It's true that our tastes change with our age!
At the time I used S3PE a lot, and SimPE before that, to edit, split, merge etc but now I can't remember anything about it.
I opened the file in S3PE and ran into the big problem immediately: how do I select all the instances related to one item? I mean, to purge this large file correctly I need to sort through and delete ALL the instances.
Incredibly, I can find a lot of tutorials about merging but none about splitting.
Could you please help? I only need to know how to find every little file belonging to one single pack. (Edit: package, not pack)

I've never even used a merged file, so I had to internet search. I got this, no idea if it's helpful:

The short answer is that merging is a one-way street. S3PE doesn't have a clue what resources are connected, once they're together they are together.

In addition to the links above, there is this trick for using the original file to locate the resources that belong to it: https://simlogical.com/ContentUploa...e/uploads/1029/
If you have a lot to remove, it's simpler to start fresh and keep backups of your loose files this time around.

I would generally advise against playing with merges you don't know the individual contents of and messing with deleting those contents - it's just bad CC management and generally a crash risk.

Thank you for your replies.
The packages I found are different sets put together, and them being CC, not from the shop, I have no idea where to find the originals. Probably the merge made sense to me when I made it in the first place.
I was afraid it would be impossible to split them, and maybe it's best this way, choosing things you want in your game is part of the fun.
