deco semi trailers/cabs; siding options and non-simlish lettering for fake ones
1. Deco semi truck cabs/trailers
I'm making a version of Gearjammers, the social club/diner for truck drivers where Jim Rockford's dad often hangs out. Just a basic, low-end dive bar/breakfast joint for my "1970s Southern California" hood. I thought it would look good to have a few 18-wheelers sitting in the "parking lot". I just downloaded Sunni's car statue collection, which will come in useful for other projects, but there are no semis contained therein.
EDIT: Okay, I just found
AceHole's deco semi truck . But it's from Smokey & the Bandit, and has a mural painted on the side of the trailer. So I guess I'll change this to:
"does anyone know of a recolor of AceHole's Smokey & the Bandit truck?" I didn't see any listed with the download.
Right now what I have - in lieu of actual deco semi trailers - are some fake piggyback truck containers (the kind that can get transferred to trains or ships). These are just long, rectangular rooms sitting on porch foundations, or whatever you call those stages with legs. I need to find some good-looking siding options. The vertical, riveted metal look is okay - I think it's some sort of "fallout diner" siding - but it only comes in the one color, so I'm off to search for more.
That part, I think I can handle, but what I would like to find is:
2. a good, non-Simlish DIY sign font
This would be for putting shipping company names on the sides of my fake containers. It should be 2-D, to look like it's painted right on whatever surface I come up with. There are a number of 3-D lettering options out there (some of which light up as well) but I'm looking for a flatter, "painted" appearance. Doesn't have to be fancy, either... big, blocky letters are good. And please: not Simlish, which (apologies to its designers) makes me ill. It doesn't have to be Roman letters, either, though - Chinese... Cyrillic... Arabic... I don't particularly need to be able to write anything specific with it; I just want to make it look like it says something.
