Default Chef's white outfit (with hat, possibly?) for elder males/all ages
I think the title says it all. I just downloaded the unlocked chef's outfit (after following an old WCIF thread ), but I have a feeling it's gonna be for adults only. I have a manor house-type lot with a live-in elderly chef, who's the only one allowed in the kitchen (via use of smart doors). Right now he's wearing some sort of medieval outfit with an apron, but it's only okay-looking if I squint real good. I also haven't searched super hard for chefs' headwear.

I also tried to unlock it myself (I think it's the Maxis base game chef getup), using testing cheats and a clothes rack, but clearly the Google AI doesn't know what it's talking about (shocker, right?)

Elder sims use the same hair and clothing meshes as adults sims, so if you unlock the chef clothes and hats they will show up for your elder sims as well :-) teen and younger would need a conversion though.

Well, in this case, it didn't show up. Just to be clear - I did not myself unlock the outfit; I downloaded a supposedly already unlocked outfit from the Dropbox account mentioned in the other thread that I found. So perhaps the person who set it up somehow had one that was only enabled for adults? My screenshot shows an adult male that I teleported onto the lot for testing purposes; he was able to purchase the outfit from the "shop at home" clothes rack. My elder male was not, and in fact the striped suit with the bow tie on the same catalog page was likewise unavailable to my elder Sim.

Maybe because the culinary career whence the outfit comes is only designed - for elders- to reach level three, whereas to unlock the outfit properly as a career reward, your sim needs to achieve level six? I dunno, just musing.

Ahh brainfart! I forgot to check said file, and it seems @simmer22 only unlocked the AM/AF resources - not the EF/EM ones. I added the EF/EM so now it should be unlocked. I didn't check in-game though, do let me know if it isn't working.

Edit: if anyone was really fast at downloading my file, please re-download. I forgot the elder female resource

Hey, that's great, thanks! Should I replace the other one in my DL folder, or just throw yours in with it?
Also, for what it's worth, I've yet to actually see the chef's hat appear anywhere, for any age SIm. The outfit supposedly comes with it, which I don't think is actually possible, as hairs/accessories are not clothing.

If the elder ones were added to the new file, use that one. Don't use both.

MDP has a 4t2 chef hat (and outfit) here:
https://hellhasspoken.proboards.com...f-hat-accessory
(Looks like it's enabled for elders)

The chef outfits I unlocked back then were probably just to save my own sanity from having to use a bunch of various unlockers/extracted outfits - likely just needed the adult ones, or nobody asked for the elder ones.

Started on what was meant to be a reasonably full set of EAxis work uniforms a while back (because I wanted to extract/fix some broken meshes) - guess who abandoned ship about 1/4 way into the project... (I need to stop doing that - I have no idea where I am in the project, and everything is a mess)

Sorry I forgot to say I edited simmer22's original file, so replace their file with mine :-)

Also I swear to god I have seen a mod by someone who made every clothing and hair (I think?) buyable, but I can't seem to find it.

Edit: found it!

Tadaaa!

I tried - several times - to write a nice explanation of my updated situation, for the benefit of any future readers of this thread. My laptop will not let me upload pictures on MTS; my phone will, but is super responsive to finger movements or something, and I ended up "swiping out" of the text editing box a bunch of times. Plus, text formatting on the phone is a total nightmare - all the icons for Bold, Italic, Hyperlink, etc. are squashed down in trash-compactor fashion... plus, I hate writing anything long on my phone... anyhow yeah. In the end I settled for "Tadaaa!", and planned on returning later to update the post on my laptop. So...

Turns out that one of Sunni's amazing medieval tavern-worker clothing DRs was somehow interfering with the elder capability of getting the outfit in question, even after I installed the updated one. (This was, by coincidence, the medieval "apron" outfit I gave my chef as a placeholder). Did I have two copies of the DR installed? Well, maybe I did. Or two slightly different ones, or who knows what. Bottom line is I got the outfit I was looking for, although strangely, it only has the "khaki" looking bottom part, and not the traditional checked kitchen-wear trousers (the adult version has both, plus a plain gray option I think). I'm not complaining though - a big thank you to all who assisted in this quest!
