Default Divine Households
If you were going to play a household that was supposed to actually be literal gods or divine entities of some sort, like a selection of the Æsir/Norse gods (Odin, Thor, Frigga, Freyja, Loki, etc) or Olympians/Greek gods (Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Apollo, etc) or other similar polytheistic pantheons (doesn't even have to be a real-world religion- Tolkien's Valar would be a good example too), how would you actually handle them differently than 'normal' Sims or lots?

I'm curious what you'd likely do differently in terms of Live Mode gameplay, to allow for the kind of absurd and often petty interpersonal interaction and conflict that actually makes those mythologies so compelling while still feeling cosmic or divine in scale, as well as how you'd design and furnish a house for gods in Build/Buy Mode, to properly capture that kind of ethereal deific nature in terms of the actual objects and locations they could interact with.

I live in Achilles Street in RL, which connects with Neptune Street and Ajax Road in a suburb named Olympus
The scenery here is probably fit for the gods - I am not sure that the housing (mostly lots and lots of huge apartment complexes) would be.

It would be hard to make them houses in sims which are different than other houses - I think if they live on a mountain, close to the sea, it will be a good start.

Making the sims seem the easy part to me - most of them should just have no nice points

You already have houses like your Rivendell to put them in!

For the Greek gods, put Chris Hatch's JSW bouquet in so they're always horny. XD

Proving that I've learned nothing from Odysseus, Poseidon is one of the Olympians I've chosen to snub in this particular project. (I decided I had more inspiration for Mount Olympus than I did for Asgard at the moment, though an epic-scale mead hall or stave church might be fun sometime in the future)!

Since there's only 8 sims per household, 4 or 5 (depending on how you read the pantheon) Olympians were going to be left out... At this point I'm planning on including Zeus, Hera (spouses) Aphrodite, Hephaestus (spouses), Athena, Artemis, Apollo, and Dionysus as all having assigned chambers (though I'm debating swapping Dionysus for Ares... I can't decide whether Dionysus as a debauched Pleasure Sim is more fun, or whether having Ares available for Aphrodite to cheat on Hephaestus with is better narrative potential). That means I'm currently leaving out Ares(?), Demeter, Hermes, Hestia, and Poseidon.

With this pantheon in mind for now though, I'm trying to figure out what gameplay elements are most suited to this particular lineup of Olympians, aside from the obvious initial aesthetic being really heavy on marble, colonnades, statuary, and fountains, in keeping with that particular fanciful vision of Olympus.

Oh, there's definitely plenty of places where they can sneak away for inadvisable divine assignations... and for that matter, I'm also including a few 'normal' farms around the base of the mountain, so there's plenty of hapless mortals for Zeus to seduce (god of thunder? Yeah right... more like god of not-being-able-to-keep-it-in-his-pants lol), or for Aphrodite to manipulate (honestly in the Iliad I can't help thinking she's acting more like a 12yo playing Sims for the first time than anything else... grabbing up Helen and Paris because they're the prettiest people in the game and make them kiss, and dumping anyone who complains in a pool without a ladder )

No bigger households mod? (TBH that's one I've had for so long that I forget it's even a mod that I have.) Anyway, who's going to actually look after the house without Hestia there?
Gods would be interesting. I've tried a neighborhood of dragon families before (in the sense of the semi-divine Chinese dragons) but didn't ultimately get very far with it. It was fun, though, maybe I should go back to it...

Do you have to have only one household? Poseidon could go in a house by the sea. Zeus/Hera etc. could go on the mountain. Dionysus could settle in next to a vineyard. XD

Artemis could be in the woods with her posse hunting things and turning guys into stags.

Could add Pan with the satyr costume.

Hephaestus needs to be god of more things... I've managed to find trinkets that imply (with varying degrees of strength) the divine domain or a relevant myth of each Olympian I'm including except him... (i.e. Sun iconography for Apollo, antlers for Artemis, etc) But all I can think of for Hephaestus is a forge or a net (IYKYK) and there's not a good object for either of those...

Definitely need some mortal townies to seduce and/or cast spells on! I think I would usually lock the divine gates so that mortals could stand around outside or jog past unless gods felt like entertaining themselves by messing with/honouring them by letting them in. To get the feeling of divine powers, the gods should be able to teleport - and maybe there are levels to their home that can't be reached by stairs?

Hephaestus needs a workshop with a robot crafting bench and other things to tinker with! I'm picturing a restorable car in a basement workshop with a lot of glowy lava. Athena gets bookshelves, Artemis gets workout gear, Apollo has to have an electric guitar.

I don't know how you would play such household without custom content, Zarathustra.
If I had a chance to play Greek gods, I played them as regular sims. But Beos' and Marvine's body types for them is this case are must have!

Here you can see more of my creations and conversions for sims 3. ;) I`ll glad to see your comments in.

I've been secretly wanting to play a Human!Greek Myth medieval hood for ages wherein Zeus, Poseidon and Hades each run their own kingdom and the other gods/mythological figures live within those kingdoms lol

My Simblr is simping-simmer. Come and join me there for a chat!
You can also find me on the MTS or PBK Discord servers under the name 'Evenfall'.

Yeah, this is gonna have to be the answer... After some Wikipedia-ing, I went back and reread parts of Book 18 of the Iliad (how many Sims creations actually use Homer as a reference, I wonder...), and Hephaestus is no joke basically described as having made what, in TS2 terms at least, can only be described as Servos lol!

Now I just have to figure out how to make the robot crafting bench fit in with the marble columns and statuary and fountains I've got everywhere else on Mount Olympus, since it's not exactly an ancient Greek aesthetic as it stands in-game right now... At least it makes sense that it's not in his and Aphrodite's bedchambers though... it's perfectly in character for Aphrodite to say "ew no, I don't want that near me it's gross" and banish Hephaestus's forge to some obscure cavern within the mountain.

I know you don't like CC, but the blacksmith crafting bench would be perfect for him.
