Hi, lately I've been neglecting the challenges a bit, and I'm playing The Sims more or less normally, so they have pets. I know there's no way to take all the pets for a walk at once, which would be really useful, but that's not what I'm looking for, since it doesn't seem to exist. I only know about taking them for walks in excursions. My Sims are overrun with poison ivy and bees... I've noticed that some dogs and cats are sleeping on the floor. I have enough pet beds for all of them, and yet they're still sleeping on the floor. Do you know if there's anything I can do to fix this? Thanks

Are you sure the beds are not blocked? If not, you have to train them to use the beds, or anything you want them to sleep on.

It's been a looooong time since I've played with pets, but I think you'll need to praise/scold them to sleep where you want them to. Again, can't recall if there's a specific pet personality trait that makes them more likely to use beds, but, like deew1957 suggests, I'm thinking that they're really trying to sleep on beds but the beds are blocked/full. And so they're choosing the floor.

Sims should be able to order the pet to sleep in a bed or the pet bed, etc. (for some reason, I'm thinking the sim might need to be considered 'master' for them to give a command, just in case you don't see an option on everyone) and then you can praise or scold the pet for sleeping in the right or wrong place.

Also I'll note that pets won't be able to sleep on the same bed as sim kids without mods. Just in case you're wondering why they aren't sleeping on the large empty space at the foot of the bed. So if your challenge allows it, you might consider MogHughson's Pets and Children share Bed.
