Yes, I usually put a wall mounted phone, but my sims can't interact with it at all. It's basically just a sculpture at this point!

I do built apartment lots as residential and then switch them to apartments at the end, so maybe that will help with the disappearing phone issue? I know when I have phones in apartments, they disappear upon rental because the game doesn't consider them the "essential" furniture.

It's more a case of a sim renting an apartment, and then after having bought a phone for the apartment and playing the houeshold for a while, the receiver just disappears. Interesting yours can use public phones, I've never been able to interact with any I've put in communal areas!

Have you tried resetting the phone(s) by forcing an error with testingcheats enabled? Sometimes, on rare occasions, I've had sims set the handset down and not put it back on the base. I don't know if there's a personality trait that influences that (lazy? sloppy?), but I know it can happen. Perhaps your sims are just setting them down in odd spots and you're not finding them. But anyway, resetting the phone by forcing an error might also reset your handset problem. Give it a whirl... it's worth a shot. What's the worst that could happen? =)

Lately, I have been throwing graduation parties for my Sims in college, which I didn't hardly ever do before, and I really like the cut scene that comes at the end of the party. I wish the photo they took during that cut scene was an actual photo that they could keep and hang on the wall. It's always so fun to me to see who is in the photo with them.

I use ScreenToGif to automatically make screenshots. If you then alter the screenshot and put it in the right folder, they can make a painting of the pic.

Actually, if you take the images that go into a character's profile in SimPE, convert them into jpegs, and then place them in the 'pictures' folder, they will paint them as a 'still portrait' if they have a high enough creativity level.

I dont believe anyone before suggested/mentioned this kind of mod...- CUSTOM CONTEST. In the game there are 3 types of contest: dancing, cooking and playing video games. But could there be any custom contents? Be it a mod or hacked objects?

It would be fun to have a dog agility contenst. I have the dog agility items extraced from Sims 2 Pet Stories, but they can only be used for fun.

I could swear that I had seen kind of mod by CHRIS HATCH about agility stuff. But I cant remember where I found it.

P. S. Do agility objects build any skills for the animals?

In Pet Stories animals do learn skills when they use agility objects.

Yes but the skills are named as specific agility item abilities

Ooh does the requiredbits file or trainingstuff in that folder actually activate the skills, then? I downloaded them from an extraction somebody else did, and they can be used but only on the lowest skill IIRC.

Actually, weird thing I've been pondering recently - the two baby items from the Sims 2 Store, the Danglemaster and Bouncinator, I had been trying to figure out how to get sims to autonomously choose them as places to put a baby down when they want to stop holding them (it would drive me mad that with some mods, they will tramp up two floors to put the baby in its cot upstairs, and without those mods, they will drop the baby on the floor NEXT to the item!) and I couldn't work out what object category they were classed as. I think that they are linked to some semiglobals in the Store Edition but I don't have that, I have UC. I was wondering if the items are missing features if you don't have the Store Edition and whether it was possible to import those globals.

Rebecah extracted them, but just the individual objects with no way to gain skills or run a show.

I never knew that Chris did these versions and I'm excited!

A mod that combines the functions of the summoner mod and the customer selector mod.

So I could summon by career: all Politics sims, all Medical sims, all Business Owners, instead of scrolling through the summoner by family trying to remember who does what because the cat is sleeping on my notebook as she does (which beats my keyboard, at least?).

Also a Family summoner would be nice: I always end up with sims wanting to throw a party but they aren't friends with all of a household that has friendships with someone else in the house: say, Cherry Wood is friends with Beulah Land and Mary Land, but not with Homer and the rest of the kids, while Homer and Dixie are friends with Sgt Cord, Ash is friends with Dixie and Scot, and Birnam is friends with River and Delta. If Ash throws the party he wants to the rest of the family won't come even though the rest of Lands are friends with the rest of the Woods, so I end up scrolling through to summon them as individuals, but "Summon all Lands" would solve the problem much more quickly.

This is probably a personal play style thing.

It would be nice if people would come to a party as long as they're friends with someone in the party thrower's household. Also, if you could choose to have parents come with their kids, even if they aren't friends.

Yes, I always have the parent make the call to throw the kid's birthday party, so they get the memory/fulfil the want, and then the kid has to phone around all of their friends, because, they are THEIR friends!

And wedding parties, I make one partner call and then the other partner has to phone around their own friends and family.

At least when you call you can "invite household".

I forgot about wedding parties. In that case both the bride and groom should be able to make party calls separately for the same party.

If you use 'invite household' and they arrive while a party is going on do they join the party?

I usually use the Sim Blender to teleport everyone else in. But yes, if you invite someone while a party is going on, they will join the party.

They do, indeed, join the party... but they may not be appropriately dressed if they aren't invited through the party mechanics. Doesn't really matter much with birthday parties, I wouldn't guess. But for weddings, you might have some people show under-dressed. It's easily remedied, as you can download doors that force sims to change into certain clothing, or you can boolprop 'em, make 'em controllable and send 'em to a nearby wardrobe to change. But yeah, anyone you invite onto the lot, for the duration of the party, will become a party-goer.

An easy way to change a single Sim into Formal wear (or any other of their regular outfits) is christianlov's Christianlov_PlugIn_Closet_ChangeClothes.package, the lesser known companion mod to his Gussy Up. It adds a "Change Into" option to every Sim's menu on the lot, thus:
Andrew doesn't have the option to change into Formal because, perhaps unusually, he's already wearing his formal outfit. Note that the Sim doesn't have to be selected (or even selectable) to use this mod. As you can see, in this case the selected Sim is his husband Julian. When I change a Sim's clothes with Change Into they will stop, spin round, and change into the selected outfit. It's usually what I want.

An alternative is the Sim Manipulator, which has a Change Clothes option. This lists all the Sims on the lot by first name. The selected Sim is listed as "Me", and there is also an "Everyone on Lot" option. Unlike Change Into, Sims whose clothes are changed with the Sim Manipulator don't stop what they're doing or spin. They just continue whatever they were doing before. So if a Sim was sitting eating, they'll still be sitting eating, only they're now dressed in formal wear (or swimwear or undies or whatever you chose). So the Sim Manipulator my be the best option to get everyone into formal wear for a wedding.

I have to admit that, at the sort of parties that my Sims like, they're more likely more likely to change into skimpy undies than conventional formal wear! And I have to say, if I ever let Julian decide what Andrew would wear, his answer would probably be "as little as possible". After all that seems to be how he invariably chooses to dress himself!

I am a bit surprised that, although a lot of people use Gussy Up, I hardly ever hear of anyone else using Change Into. I use Change Into all the time -- about ten times more often than I use Gussy Up!

The Insimenator also has these options (the Wardrobe Adjuster object, looks like a pile of clothes, can be bought or spawned in). Very handy for changing clothes when you don't want sims to stop what they're doing (no spin). They can also buy clothes on the lot.

I find it very handy for storytelling and pictures, especially if I've got a sim I've set different outfits for and want to change between the clothes but don't want to take them out of a pose. Changing outfits can be used to remove speech bubbles (if I've forgotten to use the "headlines off" cheat and have already posed a sim, or frozen them in place). It can also be used to change babies into other outfits as long as they have outfits selected (but the mod by Chris Hatch is needed to buy and set outfits). Since the option is instant, you can unfreeze sims, change outfit, and freeze them again (as long as they don't have anything in their queue - and if they do, you can use another sim to change their outfit).

And about wedding parties...I have a mod that lets LOTS of Sims show up on a community lot. I have a big park set up for weddings, and everybody changes into formal wear and joins in!

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..
