"A signature may be required for large purchases. Banks may set their own limits or require a PIN." From simsample's link- maybe that's what the divide is here.
FranH's bank is being proactive about protecting her money, while mine is like "Godspeed, omglo's bank account."

Now back to the game!

Sorry about the derailment. The tracks are back on line.

I did what I said I was going to do-write in the ROS mod that instead of winning XXX dollars in some lottery that pixels would have to fork over tons of money for losing bets.

I had that happen today-Joan Brady of Thalia woke up to find that she'd lost $ 50,000 in a sports bet overnight. It wiped out her account. She just barely has enough now to pay the bills. ("You have lost $$$ in a sports bet D100 x $1000")

Too bad her roomies moved out the night before...

It just takes writing in the mod text lines what you'd like to replace and voila! It's done! Your pixels are POOR!

I would love a mod that allowed Sims to take babies or toddlers on a walk. It could be something as simple as picking up the baby or toddler and walking off the lot with them (like go on a hike or take a pet for a walk).

I'd love if it was more complicated - like a stroller that you click on to take baby for a walk and the Sim then puts the baby in the stroller then walks to the mail box and as they goff lot for their walk, the stroller appears and they push it.

Bonus points of you could put multiple babies or toddlers in the stroller for the walk.

And it wouldn't bother me if the stroller object remained on the lot with the baby or toddler inside it as long as no one interacted with the kid and the social worker didn't show up while the baby or toddler was on the walk.

This isn't how betting works, though. You don't lose the money from your account when you lose the bet, you spend the money to place the bet in the first place, and then if you lose, you just don't get any money back later. Even if you win the bet, you're still out the money you spent to place it until the bet resolves.

Lazy Duchess thinks of everything! (Even has my favourite hoax call- do you canoe? )

Lazy Duchess SAVES THE WORLD AGAIN!! ...that's fantastic! haha... I wanted to add TS1 prank calls on my Discord server, but my bot can't actually do random, and that's how I discovered that the bot doesn't actually recognize time that way. It can post timed messages but at midnight, the day just resets; ergo, the divisor can only be 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24. I tried to make it appear more random to human sensibilities, by using a number that didn't go into 24 evenly, or exceeded 24, like say every 87 hours, to achieve that randomness feel... but it's not calibrated that way. Sad emoji. It can be duped, but i'd have to manually adjust it weekly instead of just setting and forgetting, to surprise people and that's too much like work... Maybe I need to find a different bot. too much effort for a goof! Haha...

On an aside, redundancy like ATM Machine or PIN Number always drives me a little crazy... Automated Teller Machine machine. Personal Identification Number number. When I worked in car insurance, and people would add cars to their policy, i'd cringe when people referred to the car's VIN number. It was assigned by the NDRD, or the National Department of Redundancy Department. =)

Anyway, thanks for that link!

Your debit cards must be what I call an eftpos card. It lets you withdraw money from your bank account and always requires a pin.

Credit cards require a pin for over $200, but recently they introduced paywave, where you don't need to insert the card and don't need to use a pin. I actually tried to opt out of it (I couldn't), because I like having my pin for security and I don't want just anyone to be able to steal my card and use it. Plus, the $200 limit is only per purchase, so a thief could make lots of little purchases. DX

This is what they call "Story telling".

Of course I know what betting entails.

For purposes of story telling I had a ROS scenario invoked, "you lost X amount of dollars at sports betting" and previous to that she'd had $X in her bank. The scenario popped up during the game play and I decided to have the pixel withdraw and 'donate' the money she lost to betting to some charity to reflect that she's no longer rich.

I used a story telling assist to describe something that happened in the game and someone goes off on how betting really works in the real world.

Sims 2 is not the real world and I know that as well as anyone does.
