Default How do i stop Calls asking me for a date (SOLVED)
Hi, I have been an avid sim fan since Sims 1. I have the sims 3 up to late night. I had not played in over a year as life got in the way. I have just reinstalled all my games on a new computer and all is running fine but.......

Im guessing its an update from EA as i see you can now be logged in and buy and install stuff while playing the game. Well what is annoying me is that every few second i am getting calls asking me on a date. I dont even answer the cell phone but the messages keep popping up. Its spoiling my game play.

This never used to happen so i assume it is an update to do with the social media that is now being used as an option to tell people what you are doing (sims are doing i mean)...Is there any way i can turn it off. Otherwise i am tempted to reinstall and then refuse to update the games. Im not happy about all the extra online stuff that EA have added but i guess its a sign of the times.

Oh well if any one can let me know how to stop the calls that would be great.
it hurts my head

This is from the Seasons Patch. Find a mod that shuts it off. also annoying are the love letters.

In SP3E under AttractionNPCBehaviorController change
these and export to a .package in your /mods folder.

Thanks for the reply guys. I don't have seasons installed at all so not sure why it is happening to me.
Fullsheet I don't have sp3e installed so what you have written goes whoosh straight over my head. Lol the game has really changed in a year. Simsample I am off to read the thread you linked me to.

I will report back if I manage to stop the calls.

Ok I read the post over at nraas and it seems I will have to spend some time researching this issue. The last time I had the game installed i never had this problem. I still only have expansion packs in order of release up to late night. I've never had seasons installed and don't intend too.

I'm guessing EA has buggered up with something in a game patch as I patched each ep as it was installed. I hope I can figure this out as I do t think I can play much longer with the constant date calls. It'd be good in real life to be that popular ( don't think hubby would be happy though) but its annoying for my shimmies. Lol.....

AttractionNPCBehavior

That is for patch 1.42. If you need to find out how to use mods there is a help section on this site.

The Attraction Date calls are part of the [Seasons] Patch, if you updated to Patch 1.42, then you have the functionality, whether you have [Seasons] installed or not.

To disable the functionality using [Retuner], from the City Hall menu, use the menu "NRaas \ Retuner \ Settings \ General \ By Tunable XML \ Sims3.Gameplay.Socializing \ AttractionNPCBehaviorController" and change the fields that fullsheet mentioned in their post.

The mod is available here : http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Retuner

(edit: or use the mod fullsheet ninja posted. )

If you aren't comfortable modding your own files, Shimrod has two mods dealing with the attraction abomination, here and here. The first one will also nuke all the "reputation" spam that came with Generations, if you have that pack. (must be registered at that site to see files)

I know that programmer types aren't famous for their incredible romantic solicitation skills, but WTF EA people?

EDIT: Bah! Late to the party. I'll leave this here as it might help someone else.

Even if this thread is just 3-month old, this still counts as "annoying, necro-ing thank post". Just how many times will this happen in April?

Err, the thread is over a year old (Jan. 2013). I think all these necro'd threads are the result of changing to Daylight Savings Time so early this year. The resultant sleep disruption has led to bizarre behavior from otherwise normal people.

Thank you for this. I could never have figured out how to do this on my own. Thankyou everyone except nikel23 and eskie227, this is what is called as a necro-ing Thanks post FYI.

Necro = dead. Basically it's posting in a thread that's not been responded to in months/years rather than making a new thread about the topic. To note, the post above yours in 12 years old.
