The concept of witches having familiar spirits that take the form of animals goes back to Middle Age Europe. As per Wikipedia: "Familiar spirits were most commonly small animals, such as cats, rats, dogs, ferrets, birds, frogs, toads, and hares. There were also cases of wasps and butterflies, as well as pigs, sheep, and horses. Familiar spirits were usually kept in pots or baskets lined with sheep's wool and fed a variety of things including, milk, bread, meat, and blood"

So while there hasn't been a recent pop culture reference that I can think of, dogs and horses are on the list historically

That is actually interesting, but I guess EA wasn’t thinking as far back like I wasn’t. I mean, no ideas are 100% original, but certain literature and film in the modern period repopularize them.

I mean, almost no one talks about revenants despite them being the western equivalent of vampires, because nothing has made them popular. That being said, I am open to making that mod.

Edit: I guess Skyrim made Draugr popular, and they’re technically revenants

I'm ranting again...
I love this mod:

https://modthesims.info/d/485454/th...ite-career.html
If anyone watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer's off-shoot Angel, this custom career reminds me of Cordelia trying to become famous.

I kind of wish there was an original mod with similar mechanics, but different in that the offshoot/new mod had a lot of opportunities that actually got your sim money and that the mod was inspired by/named after something along the lines of "Gambler" or "Con Artist" or "Deadbeat"

Essentially every day you went to so-called work (for my personal taste it would ideally be at the Criminal rabbit hole) and the sim would actually lose money like the Socialite Career, but then an Opportunity would come around that would make your sim actually earn a huge wad of simoleons, and perhaps change up the mod parameters so that instead of not making positive simoleons until career level 9 it was career level 6 or 7.

Fun for those who want to play out a scenario where the parent/guardian is the villain of the story; the classic trope of many a young adult novel & other media such as Finn's dad, Martin, from Adventure Time or the Lady Tremaine archetype from Cinderella-esque stories in a variety of interpretations (My favorite is Ever After, where the character is named Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent) or Bella's parents in Twilight.

I wish there was a mod that makes Sims 3 cars function like cars in The Sims 2. With getting in and out of the car animations and everything. It would be amazing.

Would love to have some weather tuning options. I hate how much rain there is with the seasons pack and wish it would be more infrequent

You might or should be able to achieve that using NRaas Tempest: https://www.nraas.net/community/Tempest

Kind of wish there was a player-controlled version of Sims Child Protective Services:
>Players pick to which household the kiddos get sent,
>Household that lost the kiddos gets negative moodlets and the household that recieves kiddos gets positive ones,
>The household that lost the kiddos gets monetarily fined if they talk to the kiddos that were removed too soon - a similar mechanic to getting fined for graffiti in public places,
>Potentially could add options for adoption/fostering/surrogacy situations,
>I like the idea of forcing a social services sim to the active household as a random event (like a burglar) where they check for certain criteria (such as each sim having a place to sleep, what careers are the parents in, cleanliness level of the house, whatever) and interviewing the two eldest sims in the house (who could tell the truth or try to lie) and the social services sim deciding whether or not to re-home the kiddos,
>After X amount of days a "court trial" could be an opportunity to get visitation or earn the kids back or something I dunno.
Not so much based on real-life scenarios; inspired by procedural drama TV shows. And maybe applied to pets too.
...I like to play with chaotic and dysfunctional households.

i think it would be neat if there was a career mod that allowed child sims to become "child actors"

I guess it gives the nostalgic idea of "I still need my parents to help me" instead of the bike at home magically appears to ride their bike home or taking a taxi.

Someone made the mod! idk if she's hiding my living room or not, but I'm happy she made the mod!!

My Idea

Man do I wish there was a mod allowing toddlers to crawl up and down stairs. It seems whenever I direct my adult sim to interact with the toddler without picking them up first, the adult walks downstairs, and the toddler walks and blocks the top of the stairs. It doesn't seem to matter if there's plenty of space on the floor either..

Honestly, it would've been even better if EA just incorporated it into the game in the first place.

Anyone else?

So, as an Australian, half of the things make no sense. Like, here is a few ideas. (Please link in a reply if already exist) 1. Cars mirrored, and driving on opposite side of the road. For example, when the school bus drives the students for a field trip to the Science lab, the bus stops in front of the lab instead of does a full turn.

2. In saying that, instead of the bus doing a full 360* turn in front of the school, it has to go all the way around the entire block.

3. The letter U is added in Colour, favourites... Like, who speaks without the U? Where is your spell check?

4. Why in the main screen, is the date so confusing? If for example the date is 14th of January 2026, it would read like 1st of the 14th month??? Like wtheck is this?

And for one more thing...
5. Can there be a chance of sims being born left handed, and you can change it in CAS with Nraas.

These few "errors" just confuse me. Mods would help soooooooo much!

This one actually stems back to the 1800s when English spelling wasn't standardized. Noah Webster believed in standardizing English spelling to be more simplistic. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • "-our" becomes "-or"
    • Colour
    • Neighbour
    • Armour
    The one exception to this is "glamour," though the U is still optional there, just not prohibited.
  • "-re" becomes "-er", except after the letter C ("acre" is still "acre," for example)
    • Centre -> Center
    • Fibre -> Fiber
    • Manoeuvre -> Maneuver (notice another simplification here?)
  • "-oe-" and "-ae-" become "-e-"
    • Foetus -> Fetus
    • Manoeuvre -> Maneuver (this is the other simplification)
    • Diarrhoea -> Diarrhea (this one is a bit crude, but worth mentioning)
    • Mediaeval -> Medieval
    • Encyclopaedia -> Encyclopedia
    • Pangaea -> Pangea
  • "-lling" and "-lled" at the ends of verbs with one L become "-ling" and "-led"—this is optional
    • Travelling
    • Cancelling
    • Channelling

There is a mod for British English spellings and terminology, which might be better for Commonwealth countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

I actually never understood the "MM/DD/YYYY" date format even as an American. That being said, "DD/MM/YYYY" doesn't seem natural to me because I believe the larger units of time are the more relevant ones.
I think "YYYY/MM/DD" makes the most sense and can be universally understood. I typically follow that format for dates in the changelogs of my mods.

This one is actually an interesting one, because a while back I actually found incomplete code for it in the game's code base for when a Sim's information was first created (this is unrelated to left-handed and right-handed accessories for CAS parts).

As to how easy it would be to complete, I have no idea, but the groundwork for it is there at least. Animations would have to be made to account for it though.

I think it would be cool if a large group of story-tellers and modders somehow got together and added "Story Mode Mini-Modules" for each world in the sims using the same method as the Quests from World Adventures based on the biographies that were written for households and key characters.
Examples:
-Thornton and Morgana Wolff go through marriage counseling. "Both the arts and having children are very important to Morgana Wolff, but she has just learned that her new husband, Thornton, actively dislikes both. Oops. Can these newlyweds save their young marriage? Should they even try?"
- Polly Maloney has a series of Opportunities where she goes clubbing a bunch; has some good encounters and bad ones. "Polly loves nothing more than a good book and a long snooze, both of which she has ample time to do. On the other side, Polly worries about meeting Sims and making friends. Will she need to be more outgoing or successful to be well-liked?"
- The Marshall family from Appaloosa Plains could be interesting if you take their ex-partners into account. "The Marshalls are madly in love, have a beautiful home, and successful careers. What could go wrong? A glossy exterior hides their secret pain - try as they might they've been unable to have a child. Crib, toy box, and highchair sit unused, and so the Marshall's bide their time and mask their emotions by adopting all the pets they can handle. Puppies, kittens, foals - anything they can nurse and cherish, they welcome into their home. Will they one day be able to have the final addition that would make their family complete?"

Etc. Etc. Etc.

2 suggestion:

1) An easier and more not laggy and crashy app for Create a World. I mean come on, you click one thing on that god forsaken program and it throws a tantrum on you. Like i just wanna create a world for my OC and i like the sims 3 worlds a lot. );

2) A place on CAS where you can make and save outfits that NPCs will wear once they age up and won't look like a fashion disaster. Like a randomized option for them, that would be so cool.

For your active household, you can make the same sim in whatever life stages they will go through and save that sim in CAS, then just use cheats or Nraas to "Edit in CAS" and click on your pre-made version of them.
But as far as I am aware, there is no way to do this for NPCs. I have occasionally seen them wear whatever color pattern I saved on a particular shirt, but never the full outfit.

You can also use Nraas to blacklist outfit items you hate, but it takes some work.

or heck, just coming up with any kind of adventures that could be played in the main worlds. like how the console version of the sims 3: pets had 4 or 5 adventures. i remember those being really fun.

Ok, I been having some time brainstorming and the result is a awful lot of assorted mod-wishes :

-Piggyback rides for toddlers and kids *cute!* (and practical)

-Paper, scissor, rock - play Interaction

-Red hands - play interaction (from sims2)

-Whistle interaction +moodlet +music skill.

-Parents interest rub off on/ or repel children?

-Dragon egg in egg hunts: a 1-3% risk/chans of geting a dragon egg in a Easter egg hunt

-A squirrel tree *spawn squirrels

-More dangerous animals (Venomous snakes, Raccoon rabies?)

-Telescope interaction: watch (snoop on) neighbours

-Spin the bottle game- social interaction/object

-A ”make furniture” option on the sculpture station that makes sim only sculpture furniture.

-Risk of Baldness when growing upp YAM-AM, AM-EM
(toupe/wig/hairinplants/ hair growing treatment?)

-A family having party, fulfills ”want to have a party” wish for ALL family members present, not only the one that makes the invites.

-Bad/good night dreams in normal beds (not only IF dream pod): red or green dream bubbles (reaction to bad dream-risk of wake up+ nightmare moodlet) ( good dream chance of waking up with “happy dream modlet)

-Better dog walks/dog interaction:
Dog walks thats shorter and easier applied and gives increased relationship to both dog and walker+ moodlet like :“nice dog walk” “doggy time” (extra for dog persons?)

-Better babyprom walk: shorter and more effective, + relationship and +moodlets

-Lightning-Rod as a working object (protecting from lightning strikes)

-Friends and family can babysit, call and ask, if yes they come over.

-Singing in choir as social interaction/group activity (or maybe just RH- option?)

-Steal other sims clothes from washing machine or clothesline interaction/social interaction (risk of getting caught)

- Special walk paths: (like Arsils jogging marker?) that allows sims to walk side by side (talking?) or even hold hands when going on a stroll, walk foot with your dog. +positive moodlet? (nice stoling area, being social in motion)

-Ventriloquism: more advanced version of ”adult can talk trough teddy bear” as a skill+ Social interactions
Option to perform with *teddys name* for coins?
(entertained/creeped out moodlets?)

-Better newspaper (sims2 style), with crosswords (+logic), local gossip (+fun) and option to make a paper plain or a paper hatt of it (++fun)

-Extrajobb/opportunity at the grill as ”hotdog-mascot” -wear hotdog costume and talk to 3-10 sims about special grill offers -> payed

-”Name slot” for title/role/nickname -assignable in CAS

Hard to impossible mods all of them, but one can always dream.

I LOVE all of your ideas.

By the way, it's spelled choir; it's a weird word with Latin and French roots that make the spelling unusual.
That hypothetical interaction would be so adorable during Snowflake day - your sims could go out and sing carols door-to-door!
