Default Build a World Challenge - Updated
This masterpiece of a challenge was uploaded to MTS by manicallymottled back in 2021 but has never been updated.. until now!

From manicallymottled's original post:

"This is a huge challenge, meant to last for months or even years. You start with a completely empty save file, and by the end your world is completely full with sims you've made and played with, their houses, and community lots you've built or picked from the gallery.

It can be played with the base game alone, but has rules for all the packs.

The idea is that you use your households to unlock the community lots, which then let you add more households and unlock even more community lots. All the rules are laid out in a detailed Guidebook.

There is also a detailed spreadsheet that you can use to keep track of everything and automatically shows what you've unlocked, which can be found on the Guidebook as well."

This challenge is now updated to include all packs up to Lovestruck (except Batuu)! Get ready to get addicted to The Sims 4 again.

[Download Guidebook]
[Download Spreadsheet]

Note: Spreadsheet is "view only" so make sure to "make a copy" so you can use it to track your own data.

All feedback is welcome, especially if I missed something, if something on the spreadsheet isn't working, or if you have ideas for more community lots.

Enjoy!

This really is a huge challenge! I can't imagine how much effort must have been put into making this. You did a great job updating the rules! I really want to give this a try but I should probably do some planning first (ie. deciding which skills and aspirations to start with).

I'm hoping we get an update for Life & Death! I poked around and updated my own spreadsheet, but I'm sure I missed something. This is a fun challenge though, great for pacing myself as I play, I tend to start things like this with no real direction, and then chaos happens, and I end up bored somehow too early?

Just found this today and am going to start this challenge this week as a new YouTube series, I think it will be fun to do.

I would also like to see a spreadsheet update for L&D, also wondering if all add-ons are included in this challenge.

Default Life & Death Update!
Hey friends! I'm finally back with an update for Life & Death!

Not only does the updated spreadsheet and guidebook include Life & Death updates, but I've also massively overhauled the spreadsheet so it will now keep track of births, deaths, school grades, etc. for you!

I've also changed the requirements for Cemetery and Funeral Home, but it shouldn't mess your gameplay up too much if you've already placed those lots!

All the new updates, including the updated preadsheet and guidebook can be found on my Tumblr page here .

I promise the next update will come out much faster!

Honestly, I'm so bad at explaining math that I will probably confuse you! If you're familiar with Excel or Google Sheets, I recommend finding a similar item on the current spreadsheet, copying the formula, and tweaking it to work for the item you want to add.

In terms of navigating the spreadsheet, it's actually easier than you might think! To add a new skill, for example, simply insert a new column in the skill section. The formulas in the neighboring columns will automatically update, so all you have to do is add your math for your new column!

The new updated spreadsheet now tracks grades for Elementary and High School - is that helpful?

Adding occults is more complicated. I recommend figuring out your requirements for unlocking your new occults then make sure you have a way to track that. For example, to unlock Ghosts in CAS, the Tarot Card collection must be completed, so I had to first add the Tarot Card collection, then I added the Ghosts section and linked it to the Tarot Card collection.

When adding new items to any section except the Sim Tracker, do not add complete columns or rows. Instead, use the "insert cells" > "insert cells and shift down" feature.

This was a game changer for me. It adds the space you need and keeps the rest of your formulas consistent! I hope this helps a little!

All add-ons are included except Batuu! If anyone is interested in Batuu being included, please let me know.
