Default Wrong aspiration sign on tombstone
Hey simmers,

Daniel Pleasant died recently (of old age), he was a romance sim with fortune as a second aspiration (which I chose relatively late in his life). He had permanent platinum status thus a golden tombstone.
The weird thing is that he had a family aspiration sign on his tombstone…
What makes it even weirder is that he was thinking about babys very often, what I realised most when I was playing on another lot and he walked by or was visiting…
So there probably is a connection.

Strange also that Dustin Broke didnt get a memory of his death, although being BFFs and standing right beside when the grim reaper took him. He did get a memory that he inherit money after I moved the tombstome to the graveyard though…

I have to add that Daniel always had wants tied to his real aspiration, so nothing strange was going on when he was alive (except for thinking about baby stuff)
If I remember correctly, he wanted to get friends with his niece shortly before he died, but that is probably not relevant since afaik every aspiration can roll this want.

Did this happen to anyone of you before or anyone has in idea what causes this?

Something to worry about or just a normal bug?

Thanks

Do you play the original Pleasantview, or a fixed version?
The original has the occasional hiccough in the machinery, so things like this could probably happen.

What do you mean by fixed version?
I simply play the standerd disc version with some EPs.
No extra updates or fixes

I meant for instance meetmetotheriver's clean templates. They fix various issues that ship with the original hoods.
I think most current templates tend to require all EPs, though.

Can't see this particular issue listed, but it could be one of the "etc.", or possibly listed in the old version.

So it is probably nothing like corruption or something?

The original version of Pleasantview doesn't have Daniel as a family sim, so it wouldn't matter if they were using the fixed version or not. It sounds like his aspiration just got changed to family at some point and you didn't notice.

But I didn‘t change it and it can‘t change by itself, so how?

It's pretty frequent that a sim's aspiration will randomly get corrupted and cause errors. Probably in some cases it just gets corrupted in some way that changes it to a different valid aspiration instead.

So if it happens frequently I don‘t have to worry that my game is somewhat corrupted and will bring unwanted surprises in the near future?

Game corruption can't happen in this way, game corruption can happen if you tamper with the core game files. Neighbourhood corruption and game corruption are two completely different things. So, unless you were adding universal NPC's in the household or deleting random things in the Program Files TS2 directory, your game hasn't been corrupted.
I'd also like to add that neighbourhood corruption absolutely can't spread to other neighbourhoods.
Your neighbourhood probably isn't corrupted.

The hoods as shipped come already corrupted. It's why people used fixed versions and other fixes. You said you don't use any, so after playing them awhile you can expect some weird bugs. Daniel switching to family, even as he died, could well be one of them. I would be running Hood Checker regularly, that can help.

Yeah, I got Hoodchecker today and from now on let it fix regularly.
I already read that vanilla hoods are corrupted.
As long as it is just a bug here and there and not some serious gamebreaking hood corruption, I can live with that
