Default Roof going inside the house! A glitch that I have never had before! This says a lot...
Roof going inside the house! A glitch that I have never had before! This says a lot...

Hi, I am a (very) long-time Sims 2 player, and I can say that I am quite "fluent" with it. Yet, recently, I had no choice but use the Legacy version of the game. I have a problem for which I firstly asked ChatGPT, but it was of no actual help.
When I build a roof over the ground floor, it goes partially inside the first floor. Plus, I tried to use Automatic Roofs, it doesn't work at all. Clicking on the button does nothing.
I didn't do anything special. I just have my usual CC, and Downloads folder installed...

Anyone can tell me what could be the issue, please?

Thank you in advance,

poisson

When there is a "closed volume" in The Sims 2, roofs shouldn't "clip" inside that very volume. I don't understand. Might it be a Legacy collection-only glitch?

In my experience this is vanilla behavior since basegame. You have to get creative with the roofing tool and sometimes having the roof partially inside the house is unavoidable. I just play walls up or cutaway and only have the roof showing if I'm viewing the outside of a lot.

Very strangely, it didn't happen previously to me. Weird. If this is vanilla behavior, why didn't it happen when I built houses, from 2004 to now? Well, ok...

Thank you for having taken the time to respond, anyway. Appreciated.
Me? Sarcastic? Never.

This is vanilla. You can make your roofs a bit smaller and stop them at the wall if you don't want to see them inside when you have the walls up view.

Hello, poisson! Does the upper floor have a roof yet? Adding one should keep 'interior' roofs from showing on lower floors. I don't think it works for the octagonal or round roofs from OpenForBusiness though.

Hi HugeL, Hi Shasta. My bad, this indeed was the issue. When roofs are made on the upper floor, things go well. I struggle with some deeper depression, recently. I am slower at thinking. Sorry. And thanks anyway!
