Default List of Common Rerelease Bugs
So, the rerelease is full of completely new, never-before-seen bugs, and the reddit communities are full of people complaining about them. I think it might be useful to compile a list of new bugs observed in the rerelease so that when people inevitably post about them we can identify them as known issues with the rerelease for which there is currently no fix.

Here's what I've seen so far:
  • Crash when a pet returns home from work (Update: This seems to be related to the unlocks achieved when a pet is promoted, so unlocking those in a different way will likely also cause the crash) (claimed fixed)
  • Unable to close custom skin dialog in CAS (claimed fixed)
  • Alien abduction no longer works and throws an error (Update: May be related to other sims reacting to abduction, and thus the abduction should work if there are no other sims to react to it. Reportedly fixed by my Abduction Reaction Fix, which actually fixes a Free Time bug that prevented reactions from occurring, so it may be additional brokenness from the Free Time bug) (reported fixed)
  • Serving food (and possibly eating food) no longer works and throws an error (possibly fixed)
  • Constant errors from the Enthusiasm Tracker (probably related to subscribing to a magazine) (possibly fixed)
  • Too Many Iterations Error when visiting a community lot, may be related to above (possibly fixed)
  • Sims disappearing in the middle of a play session, where OneDrive and antiviruses are not implicated (claimed fixed)
  • IKEA Stuff pack missing (maybe not strictly a bug)
  • Poor quality audio for sim voices (reported fixed)
  • Some sims are not able to gain memories (possibly fixed)
  • Body Shop and the Package Installer are missing
  • Rod Humble repeatedly delivers multiple computers
  • Incorrect game behavior when teaching pets skills
  • Incorrect EP tags for lots in the lot bin
  • Primary aspiration disappearing after choosing secondary aspiration
  • Body/age mismatch if a child or pet is adopted and aged up without saving the lot
  • Unable to delete stairs
  • Lot bin apartments crash

"Claimed fixed": EA claimed this was fixed in a patch
"Reported fixed": A user reported that this issue was fixed in a patch
"Possibly fixed": I personally suspect that this might have been fixed due to other things that have been reported/claimed fixed

Feel free to list any others that you've seen reported, or experienced yourself.

The alien abductions bug is related to sims reacting to an abduction. If a sim lives alone or is abducted at a time when no one else is home, they will be successfully abducted. There's also a mod that disables reacting to an abduction which also fixes the bug.

I think the work the community is doing testing this is very important, since as others have said, we have to make sure if this "update" is some kind of sabotage.

Do you think EA would never break anything on purpose? Do you attribute all the mistakes they have made throughout their history to simple laziness and incompetence?

Right, the customers who PAID for a working game are doing the debugging of the game they PAID for?

EA knows suckers when they see them.

The voices of Sims in the Legacy Collection have also been compressed heavily or made much lower quality than the original and Ultimate Collection versions. It's easily noticeable and has been reported by numerous players already, including myself.

Have I forgotten what? What I say is precisely compatible with greed, and doing everything lazily also implies knowledge that it is going to break, so it does not exempt from the crime.

Why would they go to effort to break it if they just wanted quick cashgrab?

Anyway, in the first message I made it clear that it is an assumption. It could simply be fixing it in a lazy way knowing that they are going to break it and that the community will fix it. But even if you don't want to see the machiavellian and why, the simple act of hurting the player base that represents an opposition to the model they want to implement would be enough. Do you know how many people talk to me for my hoods? Do you think that even though it is a minor thing compared to what EA does, they are not affected by all the people we steal from them for their current and future projects?

I already said that I think it's great that the update attracts more people to the community, but until there is more information we won't know how good it was.

What is the total size of the package with the quality reduced? Normal sims is under 12 GB uncompressed and about 8.3 GB compressed. I thought they might upgrade the quality of some aspects, particularly the 128 kbit/s music, but the source material of that has probably been lost.

What are the improvements of the new version, why choose to use it and spend effort fixing it?

I'm prettu sure i've heard that Body Shop is missing in the game, but maybe this one is not strictly a bug

CBF detected, loser! Click between Frames is illegitimate and will not be allowed for use in The Sims 2. Please disable the mod in order to continue playing.

Oh yes, that's right. I believe the default package installer is also not included. I'm listing these as bugs, since as far as I know this information wasn't made available to people before they purchased.

The total install size of Legacy is 12.1 GB vs. Ultimate's 12.7 GB, smaller due to the missing IKEA pack and several songs. For the Voice#.package files, they're the same size between Ultimate Collection and Legacy Collection, which leads me to believe it's something to do with their own tweaks than actual compression. The voices sound "crunchy" and sharp in the worst ways.

As for improvements from the UC, very minimal at best from my experience. There's no need to tweak the Graphics Rules.sgr file to recognize newer video cards, the UI is larger at 1440p resolution and up, and... that's it, honestly. Not much else was touched at all. It's the same old bugs with new ones on top. I'd recommend sticking to the Ultimate Collection with a couple tweaks if it's an option.

Might be worth mentioning that there are no executables for each EP, so tools such as the AnyGame Starter won't work.

I believe that they just don't care enough to make sure that they do things right. Unfortunately, people have proven that they'll still buy their shit even if it's full of bugs and bollocks.

New bugs that weren't in the UC just reeks of slapdash work and lack of the technical equivalent of proofreading.

Oh wow, that's so funny that they used Nopke's code! I wonder how many other coders will find their fixes in Legacy? And, how exactly did they break the Manage Inventory primitive?

Could be a bug in the sound settings (ingame?), something like it being really set to a lower quality even if it shows as high quality.
