Yes, zaleth, what Karen said, and a style. Example post:

"Here's my shell. Style: Retro Colors: A8440D, D6AD31, 3B1D08 Object: Look Upon The Orient mirror." with the shell file and top down picture attached.

Jo, what Karen said :P. BG compatible shell, but the decorating part can be anything and everything.

Default Round 1 - w_sims Shell Submission (TS3)
Here's my application shell:
Style: Modern/Contemporary
Colours: #96b777 - #584d3a - #e0e03
Object: Shelves del Libro

I have all the Expansion Packs, and none of the Stuff Packs. (Patch version 1.63)

There is a tile of each required colour - as well as the bookcase - in the corner of the lot, for your convenience

Good luck to whoever receives this shell - I've tried to keep it simple as it's the first round!

Okay, I'll submit a room tomorrow if all the places haven't been taken, I guess one room at a time isn't too much. I hope there are cookies!

I've included my patch version, Jones, but if it's ever likely to be a problem it's easy enough just to recreate the shell in-game rather than use the zip/rar version, as long as the pictures are clear about which windows/arches and doors were used!

Just one more question... Are we allowed to add stages and/or half walls if they're not included in the shell?

I'm going to say no. That would fall into construction in real life, this is more just decorating. though maybe I will change it up per round. But for now, no.

one quick question for the next rounds. If you are placing and arch instead of a door, can you make a small room in front of it (like 1x2 or whatever the size of the door) thats blank space and not to be decorated so you dont have an arch just leading to outside? I just feel it would make screen shots for those who get your shell look nicer.

Yes, a "fake hallway", so to speak, will be fine .

Round 1 - TheIrishJJ Shell Application (TS3)
Hi, I would love to participate in this contest! Here is my shell entry:

Stlye: Tudor
Colours: #108C0B, #C40808, #0A044D
Store Item: "Bawdy Candle", found under Lighting

Game Version: 1.57 (While I would prefer not to, if required I will update)

To be helpful, I have placed a tile of each colour in the corner of the lot (please note that they look lighter than they should be because of the shine of metal, when you actually use then they will be darker), as well as my store item. The tiles don't have to be the same style however, just use the colours listed above.

Thanks,

TheIrishJJ

Edit: I have now added a larger picture and removed the small one.
Edit: Added Style, and notes on patch

IrishJJ, could you possible get a bigger pic for us? It's very hard to see.

EDIT: Much better, thank you.

Default Trading Spaces Round 1 - Living Room Shell
TS3 taking over? Well, we certainly can't have that! Here's my TS2 shell:

Style: Mid-Century Modern
Colors: #FFEDDE, #8A6749, #750000
Item: Gliteri & Co. Trieste End Table

The third screenshot is walls painted with those three colors, just so you can see what it looks like (instead of having to try and figure it out from just the code!), as well as the table, so you don't have to look through the entire catalog for it. While everything on the lot is (so far as I can tell) base-game compatible, I unfortunately don't have AGS, so the file is formatted from my having all the EPs and M&G.
The room is also two stories high, though there are no floor tiles on the second floor- so there are just the 63 playable tiles that make up the first floor/stage area. The "hallway" is just so there isn't light pouring in through the arches- it is NOT part of the room.

Come on TS2-ers! Don't leave me here by myself!

First loop hole exploited Hmmm, I guess there's really no reason the room can't be two stories, as long as it's just air. Unused space, just for height.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I love loopholes!

This is my thinking though... I don't like seeing Sims walking around with their heads halfway through the ceiling when they're on a stage, and I wanted to add that extra bit of flair to the room- give it a grander feeling, you know? Best way to do that is empty space, I've found- ergo, two-storey ceiling! Plus, it lets whoever's designing the interior use things like the potted palm, or other items that poke through the roof of a single-storey room, if they want to!

I would like to enter please, this is my shell:

[IMG][/IMG]

Am I allowed to have this room as part of the living room if it's disconnected by a wall and arch? If not just pretend it is a hallway.

I have attached a picture of the item required and the colours I would like to be used as I don't know how to add spoiler tags.

I matched the colours as best I could with the colour-picker. They are:

#CC7639
#80ADA6
#EBD9C5

Style: Classic/Contemporary
Object: "End-to-End" Table

(I'm hoping this works)

Edit: Oh, I have all expansion up to Freetime. And I have all SP's apart from Happy Holiday and Mansion & Garden

I apologise I did not use Any Game Starter for this lot. I do not have it and don't know how to use it.

Mr_Valentine, yes, that room is fine to be included as part of the living room. It doesn't put you over the allowed floor space Spoiler tag is simply [ spoiler ] whatever you're hiding [ / spoiler ] without the spaces.

Lots of entries rather quickly. How exciting!

The hex numbers are just for Sims3 players, aren't they? Those of us putting in sims 2 entries can just say a colour I hope, because I'm confused to how we could even use a hex number when the game doesn't come with them.

Well, jo, if you have a wall that you can show the color, that would be good enough. The link in the first post to colorpicker lets you pick a color and shows you the hex, likewise you can enter a hex number and it will show you the color. But as long as people can see what you think, say. lime green, is, then just a pic would be fine. You could even just find a picture with google of the colors.

As fast as the applications are coming, I might up the maximum contestants to 25. Will wait and see if we fill up. But it's looking like we might

Okay so we can't just say blue, it has to be such and such blue and a colour swatch and people have to get as close as they can. Only monitors do change how a colour looks. I was watching a lets play thinking something was brown but apparently it was a plum. O_o
I did build a room, but looking at those I think I will change one end and add a fire place. I was thinking the person could add one in if they wanted, but no build mode is allowed once you receive your shell, right?
