I've decided to take a break from the hamster wheel. I've felt like building lately and yesterday I decided to start an ambitious vacation hood project. Recently I've started to feel like the houses I built turn out quite good, maybe not impressive, but I like them (the most important thing!).
My sims will still have a mid-life crisis when I return to them so this thread will be (and have been) very helpful for me. Thanks everyone who participated

Here's the link to the collection file for all of Christianlov's mods (a few of them are not on MTS)

I downloaded them and instantly got distracted 'cause there were so many! I think I need to get an overview of what I have before I add more, my download folder hates folders so everything is a mess there.

By "make sure there's a communal life for them to take part in" I mean -- don't get too stuck in on skilling and routine and meeting the next set of needs. Send people to community lots to fill their fun and manage their energy levels, and let them hang out some. Sims from other households will be coming and going in the background and stuff will be happening, friend making mostly, and connections will be made that you would never have had time for.

Thank you!
As stated above, I've felt like building lately and your clarification is very useful. The funniest community lot to visit right now is a youth center. Only teens visit it and it has become a great place to get to know other teens.
Some of them fall in love, some of them fight and sometimes we have a dance party

Maybe refresh their look before age change? Like a last 'makeover' before they turn into elders? You might also try to fullfill their weirdest wishes to really roleplay the 'midlife crisis before turning into an elder' :D

One of the few rules I have is that they only get new makeovers when they reached a new lifestate, I wouldn't be able to tell who's who if they change the appearance. Good idea thou

And the roleplay thing: I've been looking around for cars here at MTS lately, might be my own weirdest wish since I don't have a drivers licence or money... Well, in sims, I have

Seems fun, but I'll have to think about it. I've plans on building a school with simlogicals school system so I'll start there

I guess those two school mods aren't compatible?

If you aren't a fan of random chaos and uncontrolled actions, then you might be best off glancing through the dozens of challenges up in the challenge section. You wouldn't like things like the Apocalypse Challenge, or the Asylum Challenge, but some of the others might be good for keeping your sims busy and yourself entertained. Many would probably be better with the next generation: perhaps the poverty challenge would work for a household? Or the trailer park challenge? Where instead of trying to meet a LTW you are keeping your sim happy and alive with certain constraints?

Right now I don't feel like doing a challenge, might change my mind in the future so thanks for the tip
The weekend is approaching, have a good one!
