This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Sim keeps bringing home same friend from work?
So I've noticed that one particular sim keeps bring this same particular other sim home from work. Which in and of itself is one thing, but the catch is that this friend isn't even employed. Any idea why this would be happening?

Sounds like a mod conflict. Did you try in a CC free environment?

They are probably bringing their hobby friend home, there is a fix, here: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=16.0

If both characters (and their neighborhood) came with the shipped version, it might be something that was pre-programed.
If one or both characters (and/or the neighborhood) were made by some player, not sure what the cause would be.

either case, the linked fix might help.

One way to test the problem would be within the AnyGameStarter (within the Downloads section of this site). copy the neighborhood's folder to the AnyGame Neighborhood folder; after the installation of an AnyGame.

I've had that happen. When I finally get tired of it, I have the friend move in just to get my sim to make new work friends.

Pardon the necromancy, but I just found this thread so someone else might, too.

I recommend NOT following the "simbology" link above. Did not work for me and produced an endless series of scareware popups about "McAfee and Norton being inactive or expired and therefore horrible things have now happened". (No sign of actual imminent doom, though. Just the popups.)

The relevant TwoJeffs mod can be found at https://archive.org/details/bringho...orhigher_201908.
(Caveat: I have not tried it yet to confirm it helps in my case.)

Simbology went offline ages ago. You can view the thread by using the wayback machine. But the link is helpful anyway

It does sound like the hobby friend glitch. The mod works for me.

(How funny that I replied to this thread 9 years ago with a completely wrong answer, and then later I encountered the bug myself)

All of the Simbology mods are on SFS now, you can find it easily by googling "simbology".

You also disagreed with yourself and labelled yourself unhelpful. XD

Yes, I did that after replying yesterday, just to make sure anyone who found the thread through google could see it might not be a useful response
