No CC community lot. Check their other Sims 2 and Sims 3 houses and lots(plus Sims 1 hacked objects) if you're interested.

I'm playing a low-tech game. Not trying for an accurate reproduction of any historical period, my sims wear jeans and T-shirts, they just don't get any TVs or smoke alarms and I use various bits of medieval and Victorian CC for their plumbing and basketball hoop etc. With a few defaults I'm able to keep enough plastic out of view to make my little farming town look reasonably coherent. Then my best military career sim goes and gets a promotion... to Astronaut. Well, off to the default database to get rid of the space suit... oh. The only default replacements for the space suits are shinier space suits! Bother! I'll just have to keep her out of screenshots as she's leaving for work and make her get changed the moment she gets home.

That same day, while downloading something completely unrelated, I found Epi's Job Outfit Stopinator - exactly what I didn't know I needed! Now everybody with a silly work uniform can stay in their normal clothes if I want them to.

Going through the #sims 2 food tag on jacky93's tumblr makes me hungry. It also makes my download folders very fat.

Yes, yes yes!!! Finally!! I have been wishing for a way to disable the letterboxing on the cutscenes for a while since it looks stupid on a widescreen monitor and cuts off half the scene for some cutscenes. I was about ready to disable the special event camera altogether.

This is not my find, but ivycopur posted on tumblr about the new terrain and road editing tools in the latest update to Chris Hatch's SimPE. You can access the tools by opening your neighborhood in SimPE and then going to Neighborhood Terrain Geometry under the Resource Tree. I've only started playing around with the road editing tools so far, but they're amazing - easily add or delete roads and intersections in any of your neighborhoods without requiring Hood Replace or needing a SC4 file of your hood. You can also put roads anywhere, such as having two parallel roads without any space between (here's one example from JodelieJodelie's tumblr). There are so many possibilities now.

I was playing around with this, it's very cool! There's a whole bunch of tools that comes with that build of SimPE too (open Sims2Tools.exe in your SimPE install folder).

So I've downloaded the installer version and the regular SimPE zip. Do I use one or the other? Are the tools in one or both?

I can't wait to open it up and put extra roads in those neighborhoods! Sweet!

The results of this can look pretty decent. For example, here's part of the highway on my new town "Los Diablos":

Fran-Just use one; the non-installer zip just contains the install files that you manually place where you want it installed. The installer is an exe which will automatically put the files in the install location.

Another question though: do the new roads in a neighborhood allow for lots to be place on them? Because that's why I'm doing this-to make more places to put more houses in time to come.Maybe.

Yes. The roads added using this method function just like normal roads do.

XD I can already see myself spending a few days trying to put together the roads of Service Area highway and lowering the Jeans Shaker Oasis map. How lazy it makes me just think about it.
