Default NPC babies and corruption
With so many things turning out to not cause corruption after all, is it safe to use cheats/mods to have babies with certain NPCs (like the Grim Reaper) or not? Which ones are safe? If we do this, would it corrupt just that hood or the whole game? I kind of want to do a Strangetown with younger versions of the characters, hence this question. Thank you!

You can use cheats to have a baby with anyone you like. The worst thing that will happen is that the baby will have strange/broken genetics due to the NPC not having any defined.

It's safe, but genuine Grim babies look really boring. You're not getting a proper Nervous Subject from that for certain. I'm doing a Strangetown too currently, and my solution is to create a sim named Grim Reaper with the appropriate outfit and a more skeletal look. If you leave him in the lot bin, he won't show up on your community lots, but can still be summoned as needed.. Alternatively, if you're playing with those, you can use Inge's prisoner tokens to keep him from walking by, or the Visitor Controller to ban him from your lots.

You can make a copy of the Ideal Plantsim to get an Elven face. But don't spawn him (the original) on the lot.

On the other hand, the therapist produces some very interesting offspring

Oh god, poor Wolfsbane.

I once did some experiments involving changing pregnancy tokens so that the father was of the wrong species entirely. When I set the father of one baby to Danny Crittur, I got basically an opposite-sex clone of the mother. Meanwhile, setting the father of Sarah Crittur's puppies to one of the burglars resulted in near-clones of Sarah but with floppy ears.

Please no. I don't find this funny. Therapists are not good people if they also double as or work in collusion with psychiatrists.

Yes. Generated 4 times to estimate likelyhood of his face transferring.

In the first case both parents are Therapist.

Imgur has asked me to confirm my age if I wanted to see the content. And the prompt was justified...

Oh dear. I may have done something to upset the AI. I heard they want to weed out inapropriate content.

A few months back, there was a thing on a Simming Discord about the Carpool NPCs being safe to play and date. I haven't tested the theory myself, as I am honestly is scared to so.

There's no drama, like Sims drama.

I wouldn't risk it.

NPCs that are not safe to play as and/or to add to your household because they have incomplete user data:

Big Boss
Driver

That article is a bit out of date though, it says Social Worker is not safe. She gets code from the car object, so if you delete that she's a normal sim.

I always thought the carpool drivers were the same?

So if the Social Worker shows up to take away a child, if I force an error on her car during the abduction, she'll sit down for a cup of tea instead?

No idea. I always heard that neither were safe.

You can always make a new character who is a driver. If they can get repeatedly spawned on the lot and deleted, they can't be so bad.

What's the idea behind inverting the Boss' gender?

Social workers and carpool drivers both have character files in the neighborhood Characters folder. The worst that will happen if you try to play as them is you might get some errors or encounter problems because they don't have a full set of character data.

I second this idea, it's way more fun and reversible for me compared to getting the Multi PT Hack. I do this with the Grim Reaper, some Pollination Technicians, and even a fake Social Bunny. Plus, if you're concerned with family trees getting intertwined, you can always just make more fake NPCs. Mine always chill on a 1x1 lot in the farthest corner of the neighborhood with prisoner tokens, just to make sure they're hidden until I need them.
