No Stories category here, so I thought I'd post in Sims 2 general instead. Didn't found a thread like this either.

I was playing the story in Castaway Stories (again) and I've encountered a strange bug. I'm currently at the stage where I must befriend the villagers. I've befriended all but one, but the one who my Sim has to befriend is stuck playing chess. He just won't finish the action even after playing many games of chess. My Sim can't even play with him, can't talk to him or do anything with him because he's stuck, and I need to befriend him to contninue the story. Reloading from the last saving point doesn't help, he's still there, and visiting the community lot again doesn't help either - he's still here. You can't use cheats in Story mode, so is there some other way to do this so that I don't have to play everthing all over again?

I've got a method, but I'm not sure how exactly does batbox work... but you could give it a shot.

Backup your game first.

Then, download FFS Debugger (aka batbox) and put it in your Downloads folder (Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims Castaway Stories\Downloads) - if you don't have one, make one.

Then, go in game. Make your Sim go to their home lot (I believe in that point of the story your home is Shady Lagoon). Go to buy mode, and under Nature, buy a black box that has a batman sign on it (hence batbox). Click on it, and search for an option called "Force Errors...", and then select "On All". Your game will hang, it's going to reset all the objects.

Check if the Sim got unstuck. If he hasn't, I don't know if there's anything else you could do. (You could've used boolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled false to go to buy mode on Village Market/Harbor, but there are no cheats during story mode, unfortunately.)

It doesn't appear in my game, checked every section. Both in Story Mode and Freeplay.

Edit: Silly me, for got to turn CC on. :facepalm: But, it doesn't work. I'll probably re-install the game or just make a new profile... but I'm not to keen on playing the story again. Thanks for the response!

No, don't reinstall your game! That's almost never the answer, really! Just start a new profile.

Though that never happened to me. Have you tried sticking around to see if the stuck Sim's motives drop so they have to leave the lot?

Yep. A few times in fact, but nothing happens. I think the motives are 'frozen' as well.
I'll just make a new profile then. Thanks for your help!
