I know with all expansion packs installed their is desert wall's in one section " i for got what the name of the wall section is called . But it's located inside a section with a lot of desert stucco "left side " of the paint icon section of The Sims 2 build mode icon's.

Anyway, I am thinking about making a custom desert terrain. Custom vacation destination in the near future for one of my neighborhoods. Based on a place like, Northern Africa or countries like Egypt or the World's Middle Eastern countries. I would like to hear all of your thoughts on this, Or if any of you guys and girls done this before?

I think there's enough content to start one - build-wise. I have a desert subhood but it's more built around American SW and I have sims visit it a lot. M&G gave us a Moroccan assets for building and I remember voeille had some great pieces they uploaded that were built with them and have seen other builds take that kind of design and run with it. Not sure what the vacation activities would be though?

maybe a Tropical food stand, with something like the Pineapple Surprise to eat?, Or maybe some kind of hotel made out of sand? For Egypt I would recommend some Egyptian deco, like an Egyptian Pyramid or an Egyptian Sphinx decoration. In the neighborhood view.

Bon Voyage has middle eastern clothing, for both men and woman. they have that Disney's Aladdin hat and Muslim religious clothing as well. that comes with the Bon Voyage Expansion pack for The Sims 2 on the PC.
This ONLY issue I have is I would like to edit the Middle Eastern NPC Locals, like I could with a special program for The SIms 1, that let you edit the NPC of the Hot Date Expansion Townies's, called Make A Date.

Does anyone know of a program that let's you edit the skin tone and clothing of the neighborhood NPC's? that would be cool if that was possible. I heard there is SimPE but, I don't know how to edit the NPC's without messing up the neighborhood files or the game files and I Don't want to ruin that at all.

I can think of maybe creating a normal city of the Middle East, use your imagination a little, It's our games so it don't need to be realistic in my own opinion, But if you want it to be just do some research or perhaps someone may know what tourism is like in the North Africa and Middle Eastern countries? or maybe even Las Vegas Town for The Sims 2 might be a thought.


I never traveled my entire life, I'm poor, so I am the last one to ask when it comes to tourism outside of the my own town.

I once started a hood with an Egyptian theme, using some TSR homes and lots of CC that I put into a museum. Plus I had a couple of Pyramids that someone graciously made for me as hood deco. I never did play it, but there is plenty of CC available to do it properly with.

Egypt is one of the 55 member states of the African Union. While there is a tiny piece of Egypt on another continent, the majority of people live on this one. Also won the African Cup of Nations (soccer/football) 7 times.

The Wanderlust build contest had all kinds of vacation destinations, including some middle-eastern vibe-y places. So if one is interested you could find inspiration there.
