Default What Have You Done To Sunset Valley Lately?
You can post photos if you want, but the main question is, What have you done to Sunset Valley Lately?

I've developed it from a thriving town into a small city, if I were a sim I would personally move into my current status of Sunset Valley. The Sunset Valley world came with The Sims 3 Base game so technically everyone should have a copy of this neighborhood for their sims 3 game.

My Version of this town is now at it full development stage, I added a resort, a bar, an arcade, a bar/grill restaurant, a marital arts academy, a couple of houses and apartment buildings. I created a new City Hall, I added a wild horse stable park some a whole lot of new families and other worlds for sims to move in and out of long distance. I added a horse training center if I need it.

Creating a Sunset valley Resort caused the city to become a tourist attraction. causing visiting sims from China France and Egypt actually come visit my city from time to time and these special NPC have the "tourist" name tag after their name, I added a Renaissance Festival, An amusement park. and even a Legion post for soldiers, called a Watering Hole by following a guide online I made the lot attract military style sim's personalites

here are my photos of in the saved game

You do not need a resort for tourists. They come anyway. You seem to like to tell us how things are done in the game when they do not really work that way.

I thought I read somewhere that you need a resort for tourists to come, maybe I was wrong?

You are making statements about 3 which are not correct. I think it is great that you are playing and having fun, but it should be noted that you are talking to a crowd of people who are almost 14 years ahead of you on this game, if correct. Have fun, enjoy it. That is most important. But also keep in mind that most of us here know 3 pretty darn well.

Atm I am using this player made extended version of Sunset Valley, that also has dive locations and has a lot more space. But I am getting quite some stuck sims there. So I am considering switching back to routing fixed default Sunset Valley.

Both Showtime and World Adventures spawn tourists in your neighbourhood. The resort is only needed if you want to create a resort business where they can stay.

It is one of many WIPs, but I have been "fixing" many of the older EA towns, and saving the NHD files to use in new saves. Currently working on Sunset Valley, using an already modded "fixed" version, but adding a bit to that. I placed a few bars, and another WIP within the WIP...

And a special room upstairs...

That cool!! I started a video gameplay series for my channel where I share the day to day life of 2 Sims. Father and son, both living in a square without any resources. But, this isn't a rubbish-to-great challenge, really, it's a "test bench" thing where I open up the game, and just analyze what the Sims do, leaving their autonomy and AI to do all the work for themselves! And I'm surprised. In fact, I discovered at least 3/4 features that I had no idea were in the game!

One is that the Sim takes out the phone to "capture the moment" (which is an autonomous interaction), another is that Sims can wear "Homewear" which is an outfit not listed in any category, which is comfortable and refreshing for get dressed (In the case of my adult Sim, shorts, no shirt or sneakers) and much more. Wish I had more images like you of my Sunset Valley (fast forward) but I'm building my own version of it on Caw in the meantime:
