Default Some discoveries
Just for me, obviously. I haven't played the game for years. I played it for maybe half an hour after it became free. Now I wanted to check something out and I reinstalled it (base game only). Some surprises:

- I am bombarded with "quests" for actions that I would do anyway.
- I keep getting rewards for those "quests" that are obviously meant to make the game even easier than it is.
- There are cars driving around. Well, at least my Sim can sadly watch them.
- Sims are wearing underwear in the shower/bath (no mosaic mod). Which genius thought of that? But if it was done for comic purpose they certainly succeeded.
- My Sim is a writer and the first and easiest thing she can produce is a children book. If EA people really believe this they are completely wrong. A good book for kids is very hard to write: that's why there are so few.
- And last but not least, I can determine the way my Sim will die at the very beginning. I really don't even understand what that is supposed to do. I left it unchecked.

Nothing new to you, but this is what I discovered so far. Doubtlessly another surprise is waiting for me at the next corner, with a big stick.

I am sure you are right. It's not all doom and gloom, though.

- My writer has fun maxed out all the time when she is writing, even when she is hungry and tired. She can only run out of inspiration; that's realistic, as are some of the solutions (not those stupid potions, of course). This is what I wanted to check out and this is where TS2 and TS3 went wrong (not sure about TS). Writing can certainly be tiring (it's always tiring when you have to use your brain), but it's never dull. If it becomes dull you are doing it completely wrong.

So: kudos to TS4 on this point.

I can only assume you're playing a scenario or event. I have never encountered anything asking me to choose how my Sim is going to die. I think the current update introduced an event scenario, maybe that's what you're playing?

None that I know of other than the one in my head. I still have to look into scenarios (also new to me), but I won't do it with the current Sim.
"Predict death" (?) appears on Create-a-Sim screen, up left from your Sim's main trait.
