Greetings. I don't know if this is the right place to ask a question, so feel free to move it if it isn't.

I'm a veteran sim-player since TS1 came out. One of my favorite things to do was to create NPC families! Of course, there are some surviving converted NPC downloads out there (i.e. OddSim). I've been working on a little project of converting NPC skins to make them playable, after finding a great batch of NPC files on Tumblr. However, not everything was extracted. Either some skins are missing files (i.e. FlaminGoGo dancer & Bonehilda) or skins are missing entirely (i.e. Yves the Caterer). I tried to the FAROut tool to extract from FAR files, but I somehow can't. Research hasn't got me anywhere, alas. A shame because I'm unable to convert previously-stated NPCs, and also unable to convert other skins, like the white and blue skeleton skins (when sims get electrocuted, lel )

My question is, does anyone have any more converted NPC skins, or has the knowledge to extract skin files? And if so, would it be possible to extract the files of the NPCs I listed, and then some, so I can convert them? Would be much appreciated! :D

JFade has a bunch of converted NPC skins at https://sims.jfade.com/Sims1/index.html. Scroll down to where file names begin with "NPC."

FarOut works fine for me to extract whatever I want from .far files. If it isn't working for you, Faith Beam created a new tool called Far Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OBhd80L__4.

I have the flamingo skin in my game... but I think it has a skin conflict because... uh... this ain't supposed to happen. XD

Do you have the FlaminGoGo Dancer head files too?

It looks from your other thread as if you might have figured this out before I got a chance to answer, but I do have the head. I have a pretty full skins folder, though, so it might be a bit of a problem to find.

You are correct. I bet that the FlaminGoGo Dancer skin has the same mesh number that another is also using. It can be corrected, or you can remove the skin and get the files from my collection

To answer the second part of your original post, the skin bitmaps weren't always just in a skins or expansion pack FAR. Sometimes they would be in Textures.FAR or ExpansionShared.FAR.

I have all of the NPC skins extracted if you still are needing anything.
