Default i need tips for fixing recolor issues when converting objects from ts4 to ts2!
hi! i hope someone can enlighten me with this, but does anyone have a specific list of objects, whether functional or decorative, with multiple recolor options? i've been converting things from ts4 to ts2, but some have many swatches, and sometimes the objects i use, like the beckoning cat, don't register the other recolors i add. i should mention that i clone the textures but i change their names in the txtr list without affecting the filename they come from. i don't know if i'm explaining myself well. for example, i want to convert a tv, but only one of the many recolors shows up, and sometimes it changes on its own, but i can't choose the swatch i want. when i commit, i click update all mmats. i don't know what i'm doing wrong unless i need to add the swatches separately. i'm asking this because before making cc, i noticed that some objects came with a crazy amount of versions in the same file.
Try to enjoy each fact equally

You probably need some recolouring tutorials:
Tutorials:Object Recolouring Tutorialswiki
That will show you how to make a recolour for already recolourable items.

https://hugelunatic.com/making-objects-recolorable/
This shows how to fix non-recolourable objects.

This may help too:

1: Don't clone the items to make recolors - you choose "recolor" instead of "clone" in the Object Workshop. This sets the recolor file up properly.
Some items have special recoloring instructions that involve cloning, but most of those are not in Buy mode (fences, NH deco...).

2: Make sure the item is recolorable (Install the CEP properly so the items you clone are recolorable - if the original item has swatches ingame they are usually recolorable. If they aren't, check the mesh file against Hugelunatic's tutorial above, and fix anything that's not set up properly).

3: When you make the object, make sure you've given the item a unique GUID in the OBJD, and that the MMAT is updated with the new GUID (check against Hugelunatic's tutorial if you're unsure), before you make recolors. If there are more OBJDs, it needs a new GUID per OBJD in the file - and make sure to ONLY update the main GUID for the MMAT.
