Petition for a TS1 download section!
It’s great to see easier access to the two TS1 forums on the banner but my friends and I would like to see it expanded to have a full access download section the way the TS2, TS3 and TS4 have always had. Since you’re such an established and centralized location for browsing and downloading user made content we think to would be a great idea to help strengthen and preserve TS1’s legacy for veteran and new players alike.
As such we’d appreciate any signatures for this petition. Thanks for reading!

There's really not enough content for it to warrant a full-blown download section yet. If you are concerned about older sites and downloads disappearing, then Simblr has a great "Dead Sites Repository" that you can look into: https://simblr.cc/deadsites/

Yet? So that means there is a chance of something like this? It just seems like circular logic to say that we can't have a download section because there isn't enough for a download section when who can upload when there... isn't a download section. It's not so much about older content as it is a place to keep newer content since MTS is one of the oldest and most established content distributors of its kind. Also can I ask if there is a threshold for such a number? I'm just saying in this case, I think it's a sort of 'build it and they will come' situation.

Either way, as far as old content goes. Simblr.cc is far from the best TS1 archive of it's kind. I believe CTOsims (which is backed up to Archive.org), their modern sister site TerraLuna, or Archive.org's own Sim Archive Project is far more comprehensive. I mean, as comprehensive as a collection of all CC can be.

Just my two cents.

Having multiple "dead site" or collection sites is a good thing - especially given how archive.org has been DDOSd and forced to remove content recently. Don't really see an issue with recommending one over the other.

Regarding a possible TS1 download section - there's a lot more work than you might think to add a new game to the system. The main issue is that we have all of the Creator Guidelines, and we (the staff) would have to add a large amount of content to support The Sims 1 to those lists. See https://guidelines.modthesims.info/ for a full list. We'd also have to do internal training to make sure that we have at least some experts in TS1 modding and CC to make sure that the quality standard we have here is upheld. And that's before adding the backend code for filtering, etc. It's ... a process.
