I've created a new career reward for my rapper career, but the icon is not showing in the career rewards menu. All the other rapper icons seemed to be showing except this one.

So I hope this helps you- this is what I did.

So you've made your custom career icon, and used it to replace the icons in your custom career file? The bottom one is used for the reward. In the unmodded GUI, those icons are white, so I made a white version of my icon to be used there. You can just see it if you look hard at the left side of the picture viewer panel!


Now, have you linked your custom reward in the career? If you open it in Bidou's career editor there is a drop down box, so you choose other and put the GUID of the custom reward object there (mine is linking a Maxis item, you can see that the GUID of that matches the GUID I put in the career editor reward GUID box).


Now you need to look at the GUID of your career- mine is 00519602. Copy your GUID down somewhere.


Go to your reward object, click on the OBJD. Click the raw data tab. Scroll down to 08- GUIDs. Can you see 0x0034 and 0x0035 (where it says Job Object GUID 1&2)? You need to put the GUID of your career in there. The first four digits go in 0x0035 and the last four in 0x0034. In the same way as I've filled in mine here. Commit that and save.


And that's it, if you look in-game your career reward should show up next to the others with the correct icon.

@simsample That worked! Thank you. I knew everything up until linking the career to the career reward. It's clear to me now that everything has to link back each other.

My only issue now is how to get rid of the skill descriptors. Is this a case of going into the OBJD and Raw data and changing and changing catalogue ratings?

Do you mean where it says fun 10, environment 1, +creativity? Are you looking to change what the object does, or just how it's displayed in the catalog?

Just how it is displayed in the career reward section. None of the other career rewards show this type of information.

Oh, I see- yes, it's the catalog ratings in the OBJD as you previously mentioned. I zeroed mine out to remove them from the tree ring sculpture.
