This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Need help with Sims2Pack Clean Installer
So basically I can't download the clean installer. I think the problem is that I downloaded it a while ago and put it on an external hard drive. That stupid thing broke on me so I can't access it anymore. So now it's technically not on my laptop, but when I try downloading it, it says I need to uninstall the old version first, which I can't do because it just says it's not on my laptop.

So I tried using the no install version of the clean installer. Idk if I'm following the guide correctly, but I'm trying to use the huge lots mod by LazyDuchess and I need to import the different lots with the clean installer. When I click on the lots, the only app I can open it with is the old Clean Installer that's not on my laptop. When I go through my files and try using the new one, nothing happens. It just takes me back to the list with the old version.

So basically, is it over? What do I even do now because I need to import those lots, and any future lots. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or is there another safe way to import lots?

So irritating.

There must be some left over pieces of it that were on your laptop. Have you tried doing a search for it?

I don't really know how. I've tried searching in my files, but there's nothing. I've gone into control panel and programs and deleted it there but the problem didn't go away. I'm not sure where to look now.

Could be some leftovers in the Registry, maybe?

I checked. I tried deleting it and it said "unable to delete specified values" or something like that

This program has a registry cleaner. I use it myself.

Right click on a Sims2Pack file and choose Open With> choose another app. Then select your current Sims2Pack installer from the list (you can tick the 'always use this app' box to make it stick).

If that doesn't work then go to settings>Apps>Default apps, and click Choose default applications by file type. You should be able to change it there.

Be very careful if you use that program, you are basically giving a third party aplication administrative access to your computer registry. If you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to break your actual operating system with this tool (I know, not because I've done it myself, but because I've had to fix computers where people have done this! )

My computer will probably explode because I've said this XD, but I've never had any problems after using their registry cleaner. I always check the stuff they discovered before fixing it to make sure that it doesn't look important. It also gives you an option to back up your registry beforehand.

I know, I was just pointing it out for anyone reading who wants to try it!

Not much use if you can't even boot into Windows!
