Change Wall Tool price/depreciation?
Hey y'all! I've always hated that building a wall in TS3 cost §70 but immediately deleting it only gives back §56. How can I make a mod that changes the price of this? I found how to change the wall price, but not the immediate depreciation. Can anyone point me in the right place? I'm new to modding 3. Thank you!

Hi!
The only method I know is to depreciate the cost of the entire lot via Nraas Master Controller. That can be done by selecting a non-active household -> Nraas -> Master Controller -> Depreciate. This will reduce the lot's cost by a percentage from 1 to 100.

Another method is lowering the value of an object using Nraas Debug Enabler—select the object -> Nraas -> Debug Enabler -> Options: <name of the object> -> Set Value.

There is also a cheat with some of these Nraas mods, but I’m not sure if there’s a way to depreciate the cost of a wall itself without a mod specifically for them, as you said.

Interesting! Thank you. It's just so weird that walls & floors are immediate in BB. Makes me feel bad for being indecisive! I would still like to possibly find what package changes this & if there's values for walls & floors, but I'm so lost in S3PE.

Here is an useful link about the depreciation: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Depreciation

That can be really frustrating for some, though the depreciation system can be altered by a tuning mod, but it’s definitely a complex thing.

There doesn't seem to be a tunable field related to walls specifically, so singling them out would likely take a script mod.
The tuning for global depreciation is in the GameObject XML, or By Tunable XML > Sims3.Gameplay.Abstracts > GameObject > kInitialDepreciation and kDailyDepreciation if you have NRaas Retuner, if disabling the feature entirely is a compromise you could settle on.

Personally, I think the instant depreciation makes sense. You can return furniture, but construction? Not so much
