I am trying to recolor the Portal of Peace door from University. I downloaded and installed the CEP the Huge Lunatic created for this door. I have successfully recolored the door, but when I try to recolor the arch and frame, it does not show up in the game.

If I understand this correctly, recoloring the arch should recolor the arch and door frame. Am I missing something here? Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like there's only one MMAT for the door, so the parts aren't separately recolorable - if you're looking at the blue/green texture, the door frame is the lightest green part at the side and halfway around the door.

The separate arch item looks like it's repo'd to the door.

No, the door now has two subsets. Recoloring the door in SimPE will now bring up an option to choose frame, door, or both. The arch takes it's recolors from the door.



wat? The CEP extra provides the second subset. Are you looking at the door without the CEP extra?

Here is where I confess to a rookie mistake. I had SimPE open when I installed the CEP. I did not close and reopen the program, so I was getting the original file. After reading this, I closed and reopened Simpe, which then reloaded all the game assets, and viola! file with subsets.

Thank you for your assistance. I was building a fairy house and decided that this door had a whimsical shape but a lack of whimsical recolors. I did eventually get it to work with your help.

I probably didn't read the repo'd subsets properly, though it did show up with just one subset in the texture selector - guessing it's repo'd in such a way it doesn't show up as a separate subset there?
(Doors and windows are... uh... generally not my thing )
