This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Pink soup & crashing
I added some new mods a couple weeks ago and suddenly my game started flashing pink everywhere - Sims, furniture, houses, scenery. Absolutely everywhere. Not long after that it started crashing randomly. I can get through maybe half a sim-day before it crashes, if I'm lucky. I took the mods out, but so far that hasn't helped the situation at all. They were pretty innocuous mods that I couldn't imagine would cause any major problems like these. I've changed the Graphics Rules and followed all the performance tweaks I'm been able to find, but nothing. This has rendered my Portland virtually unplayable which, to me, is completely unacceptable. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Did you see my comment here: https://modthesims.info/showthread....872#post6016872

Could be a shaders issue (do you have any mods overriding the Maxis shaders?), or indicative of hardware problems. Check your graphics card drivers and temps. Did you have pink flashing in this session also? If so, try rebooting your computer (hard reboot, not the hibernate/ soft start thingy).

(This was in response to your post showing red flashing too).

Oh I'm sorry, I must have forgotten to reply. I do have shaders, but I took them out and if anything I think it made the pink flashing worse. I also upgraded my graphics card so it shouldn't be that either. Rebooting my computer also didn't fix it. The computer itself is under two years old so I'm at a complete loss. It runs fine on my 10+ year old clunker of a laptop.

Do you have the red flashing often, or is it just the pink?

When I upgraded to Win11, my computer somehow forgot it had a graphics card - massive pink flashing, unfixable...until I noticed the card wasn't listed in the computer specs anymore. Just a thought, in case it might apply here.

My new downloads are on my Pillowfort

I have one neighbourhood that flashes red, but Portland just has the pink.

It does still recognize the graphics card, but thanks for reminding me to double check!

I have no idea why this would have started suddenly. It wouldn't have anything to do with the amount of storage available on my computer, would it? That's the only other thing I can think of.

Have your graphics drivers been updated recently? Check your graphics card temps.

I just updated them last week and no change. Temp's steady at 30C.
