Hi! I’m stuck with the Norwegian beta (0.2) of The Sims 3 Create-A-World,
which doesn’t support custom content or SourceObjects - It’s been creating a million problems, and I’ve been trying to fix them for days atp (currently in a state of perpetual annoyance/frustration lol🥲)

I’ve searched everywhere for the English 1.19 version (the one compatible with game patch 1.69). It would fix all my problems🥹🥹
If anyone still has the installer or could share where to find it, please please message me.

Unfortunately, that link redirects me to the Norwegian beta (version 0.2) — it installs as the beta version every time, and I’ve tried every possible link I can find

I’m specifically looking for the English 1.19.3 version of CAW, the one that was compatible with game patch 1.69. The EA download servers for it are gone, so the link in that thread only gives me the old beta.
I think the file was called CAW_1_19_3_WorldBuilderTool.zip or something like that)🥲

I don't understand what you mean by 'installs as beta'- Create-a-world was only ever released as a Beta version, as EA refused to support it (as you can see here: https://www.thesims3.com/game/tools/world )

The tool will likely install in whatever language you have your game installed in, because it uses the core game files.


That sounds as though you used the SuperCAW tool which I linked previously on Simlogical. You need the EA Create-a-world tool installed to make this work.

I know CAW was technically always called a “beta”, since EA never officially supported it after release, but that’s not what I mean.

It seems like the link is actually region-based, even though it looks like a direct .zip link.

When I click it, it redirects to the Norwegian mirror (“Verdensskaperen i The Sims 3”) which installs version 0.2 — the very first beta from 2010🙏

The English mirror, which most of you get automatically, downloads version 1.19.3 instead.

EA never replaced the localized file on the Norwegian server, so I still get the old 0.2 even though the link looks identical.

So I probably need a local, direct link to the English version.

Does that make sense??

There must be something going on with your PC, that's the full installer zipped up and independent of the EA website.

Did you uninstall your old version of CAW correctly?

Yup!
Uninstalled, deleted everything, emptied the bin.

Tried installing it with a VPN set to the UK, still didn’t work. Currently I’m reinstalling my Sims 3 game in English - I’m hoping that will make it automatically install the English version…

But I’ve been trying to fix this for so long that at this point I just know in my heart that it won’t work lol. I keep telling myself to not have hope🥲🥲

Be sure to remove any trace of Sims 3 and CAW from the VirtualStore folder too:
