This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise
Default Not able to download SmugTomato's download onto my computer
I am trying to download Smug Tomato's Blender download and it does appear in my "Downloads" file on my computer, but when I try to extract it, there is this popup (attached) that says that there's an "unspecified error".

So what ends up being extracted is that download's with all the files in it, but they're all empty. I initially thought it was the browser (because I was using Microsoft Edge) but then the same thing happens when I try to download with Google Chrome.

Does anyone know what's going on?

The download works for me; try clearing your browser caches and redownloading. Also check your antivirus in case it's blocking the download.

Sorry, uber techno dinosaur here with a tech-boomer question.
Where's my browser caches located? And if I am using Norton, how do I check if it is blocking my download?

Edge:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edg...che-and-cookies

Chrome:
https://support.google.com/accounts...tform%3DDesktop

Note: if you delete cookies, this will force you to log in to any websites you use again. So make sure you remember your passwords before doing this!

For Norton, you'll have to do an internet search for whichever version of Norton you are using.

Norton 360 is what I'm using. Would it be auto-protect that I need to turn off or is there something specific I need to turn off? Would it just be easier if I turn off Norton altogether?

I have no idea for Norton 360 sorry, I haven't used that so you'd need to do your own research and testing on that. Usually an antivirus will have a log or quarantine list where you can see what was blocked.

Maybe Norton treats files from unknown authors or sourses as a virus. I don't use Norton either, but there should be a setting, where you can add an exception to the download folder not to be scanned.
The problem could be related to the file archiver program you use.

So I've tried to disable everything on the list on my Norton page (attached) & I still cannot transfer the files onto my computer.

This is what it literally looks like on my end (attached)

Well that little icon next to the scribbled out user name in the first image looks like the One Drive icon. Check your One drive settings to see if your documents and downloads are going there. From your picture, I can't tell where that file is actually saved. You can do an internet search and find out how to do these things quite easily; it will take me longer to search for you, give you links and type it out here!

If it's saved to your One Drive, then download it to your local drive and try extracting it again.

BTW, thanks for your patients with walking this tech boomer through all this stuff guys

@mythik1988

We're glad you've found your download!

If you don't want your files to be saved in OneDrive, watch this:

I don't think it's a OneDrive issue; I don't think I downloaded Bender's download into OneDrive because I have a copy of Bender's download in the download folder (pictured)

But even when I try to extract it from the downloads folder, I still get the same popup message which I mentioned about earlier.

If you right click on the file and choose 'extract all', can you show me the pop-up that gives the location where it will be extracted to?

Is the ADMIN user your account? Is that the one you log into?

Considering this is my own personal laptop, I believe so, yes.

What happens if you change that location? Try extracting it to users\ADMIN\Documents\TEST or even somewhere else (such as a folder on your desktop).

You don't extract that file. You go to Blender Preferences> Add Ons> Click Install with the down arrow, a new window opens, go to the zip file and click on it. Basically follow instructions on Blender site.

Thanks for that @LadySmoks , it doesn't explain why they can't extract the file (I can), but if they don't need to then all is good.

How do I know it's installed?
Because I followed what you said here, even clicking on the SmugTomato's file and it just goes back to the previous window with no notifications whatsoever.

Except the youtube video says that I cannot add on files that are not unzipped. Which brings it back to square one; I cannot move any of these files (pictured) out of the zip file that was downloaded on Bender's download page

No. It clearly says what I and the 3 other videos say. Click the ZIPPED file. Do NOT unzip the file.
