Default Can't use computers, phones, newspapers, or click on active sim.
Hey all, I recently did a change out of my mods (taking out ones I'm not using, adding new ones) and I can't seem to figure out which one is causing this conflict. I put everything back to the way it was before I changed everything, and its still giving me issues. I can click on other sims as the active sim, but I cannot select the active sim. I can't click on newspapers, phones, or computers either, so I can't throw parties or go on vacation. I can provide a list of the mods I'm using if it helps at all, but I'm just really annoyed with this and that I can't figure it out. Posting here is my last hope that maybe someone else has dealt with this issue.

Upon further research, it seems I can select things in new saves up until the newspaper arrives for the first day, and then I no longer can click on the active sim, or use phones, computers or the newspaper.

@TheGlamourousFeral

The problem could be from conflicting mods. Could you provide a list of the mods you're using?

Edit: Before sharing your mods list, I want to point out that if you use simler90’s Core Mod together with NRaas mods like MasterController or Overwatch, they will conflict with each other because they manage and overrides similar or the same game operations.

To check if you have other conflicts, try Sims 3 Dashboard Tool

Is the problem still persists?

Between mods, overrides and CC I have well over 3k things in my mods folder (half of that is TSM catalogue to be fair, and half of what's left is just CAS stuff like custom tattoos.) so idk if providing a full list would help. I do try and keep track of what ones I do install together when I go for a browse and installation spree.

After going through everything I've added in the last two weeks individually and re-starting the game with each test, I figured out it was the nnediz Babysitter mod, the adult $75 one, that was causing the issue. Removing it solved it. I'm gonna leave this post up in case other people run into this issue.

It's always better to not have so much custom content and mods installed because it could lead to performance issues and other types of conflicts that can't be solved easily.

Anyways, I'm glad you found and fixed the issue!
