Default Some unusual game tips for unusual problems!
Have you ever wanted to do something in the game but you didn't know how? Did you look it up online but still couldn't find anything?

Well, this has happened to me multiple times and it can be a little frustrating. So, I decided to make a post with some of the things I wanted to do in the game but I had to find them out myself through trial and error or by searching on the internet for hours. Hopefully, this will help someone out there and if you'd like you can share your own tips here (just make sure to number them, so people can find them more easily :P). Here are some of my tips in no particular order:

  1. NRaaS Story Progression is more than just a story progression mod! Progressing your town is its main function but even if you disable it, you can still utilize it. Each and every one of the options you can see while SP is disabled can be toggled on or off and it'll will work just fine! And you can even use the castes! This is useful for when you're using EA Story Progression and want to tweak some of its aspects, such as the dreaded emigration but you could also use it as an aging manager -- the mod is very capable and depending on how you set it up you can enable Sims 2 style aging or make your active human sims immortal XD
  2. There's a whole world of colors hiding between the different shades on the color wheel! For example, you can get coral or salmon by clicking between orange and red. Same with teal, if you click between blue and green. You can also create muted colors by clicking on the space close to the center of the wheel and then darkening that color. Lastly, if you see a photo of someone wearing a color you really like, you can use a photo editing program like paint.net or GIMP to copy its hex code and then paste it into Create-a-Style! Keep in mind that you might have to tweak it a little to make it look exactly like the photo.
  3. If you get stuck on individual categories in the dresser CAS with the Smooth Patch, open Create-a-Style: This will make the category buttons clickable again -- but you'll most likely have to do it again in order to change category a second time. If you get a script error and the buttons on the bottom of the screen suddenly become unresponsive, opening CASt can sometimes help with that as well. Usually, it's clicking on body hair that causes this but if you go to the hat section in the hairstyle category, you can find a button that opens CASt.
  4. You can remove mermaid scales from individual sims without a mod: To do this, open the console and type cheat code unlockoutfits true (you may need to enable cheats first for it to work) and then open CAS from a dresser. The code reveals every item that's hidden by default, including the leg scales. You can remove them from every category. The downside is they will still be visible in the naked outfit (in which case you'll need XCAS or Master Controller's Stylist). I do this instead of using a dedicated mod, because I like the scales on some of my sims and it also makes it very easy to tell which of the inactives are a mermaid without even clicking on them. Lastly, if you keep the scales and later change their color in the mirror, your custom tail will be overwritten by the default one. I'm not sure what happens if you use custom leg scales though.
  5. You can create your own mermaids that will appear in the diving lots: Just add them to the household called Mermaid with Master Controller. Click on the City Hall > NRaaS > Master Controller > Household > Add sim > Mermaid -- then choose your mersims!
  6. If you're having issues with mods not working in game with CC Magic, delete the cache: It's not very common for me but there's been a couple of times where certain cc wouldn't appear in game. I solved this by clicking the clear cache button and then "yes" on the popup that comes up asking to delete the custom loader cache data. Also, certain mods might not work properly or at all if installed via CC Magic. I had this problem with Master Controller Integration, which wouldn't work even if I deleted cache, and Awesome mod (this one displayed an error message on startup). I keep those two mods in my packages folder.

Ok, these are the tips that came to mind right now but I'm planning to add more. In the meantime, if you wanna add yours, please be my guest! I'd love to see solutions to problems that don't get talked a lot -- just make sure to continue from number 7 rather than start a new list

A good list, but...

This is quite irresponsible to share / encourage.
Everyone is welcome to trial such combinations at their own risk, but this claim is just not true. Regular unsolved ScriptErrors are not normal and proof that they aren't working together without issues - the issues are just being ignored. Which again, you can freely do so - but I would not include this in a list of tips to get more people to do so.

Really only turns into more headaches for us. I could go for seeing fewer logs with that mod in it than more, thank you.
AwesomeMod is fine to use with it, because it was actually actively developed with NRaas users in mind.

Cardinal has been taken by a fey mood!

Thank you. I didn't actually know that. I've always got an occasional script error, even without Simler's fixes or Awesome mod but most of the time I didn't notice any issues after getting them. I've read that some script errors can be ignored, so I thought I could do the same with these script errors. I'll just delete this tip. Thank you again.
