How to buy a junkyard?
What are your recommendations on having my sims acquire a junkyard as real estate?
I understand this is not standard practice but does anyone have ideas on how to achieve this regardless? Would love to get this to work with base game + EP's but would consider a mod as well.
Clicking on it in map view does not give me the "Purchase" option. I've made sure that the family has enough funds.
No lot that's set as a junkyard is listed under "real estate" on the phone/computer.
So I've tried changing the lot type, then:
- acquiring it as a community lot with Ambitions functionality, I tried with a fishing spot.
- acquiring it as a second home residential lot with Island Paradise functionality.
But as soon as it's in the family's posession, if I change the lot back to a junkyard, they get their money back and no longer own it.
This is not just a glitch but seems to be as intended by the game, because I also get the notification "The property was modified in Edit Town and has been sold on your Sim's behalf."
Is there some type of important game-breaking reason that sims shouldn't own a junkyard?!

I can imagine the lag that has happened to my game if a sim has 100 pieces of scrap in their inventory, so perhaps there's good reason for it performance-wise?
Why do I want to buy a junkyard? It's just because I'm playing the Bayless family in Twinbrook, and the town has the Bayless Memorial Junkyard. Now that they've made a bit of money I'd just like them to have it.

I do not expect to be able to get dividends from it, but it sure would be nice.
