Default Converting the Sims Medieval skins to the Sims 3
I'd like to try and convert the Sims Medieval skins to the Sims 3, because I like how they look, and I was wondering if it's possible. You see, I've managed to extract all of the skin files from the game and I can totally put them into Skininator. But the thing that TSM lacks a muscle slider, just like TS3 did before a certain update. It also lacks that slider that controls how dark the skin is. Because of these two things, I was wondering if converting the skins to TS3 can be done?

Muscle slider is a normals map that can be found in the Skininator images files. Skintones are added in Skininator.

Ok, thanks. I'm going to try it out myself but I wanna ask something quickly, what do you mean by "skintones"? Isn't "skin" and "skintone" the same thing? Sorry for asking, I've never made any skins before and I'm unfamiliar with the terminology.

No. Skin is the texture image. Skintones are the sliders you mentioned that change the skin from light to dark, or the rainbows that go various colors. The normals maps for both "cuteness", which is fitness slider, and "cleavage" which increases breast shading, are often not used, which is why they don't work on too many CC skins.

Ok, I see. Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately, the face textures seem to be in a different position in TSM and so they appear misplaced in the Sims 3. I'm not sure how this could be fixed (probably by manipulating the texure with image editing software?) and so I'm gonna leave it at that.

I know the garment textures are arranged differently, similar to other game models, with boots/ shoes/ feet attached, from having worked with a few... but, I've not done anything with TSM skins and am not familiar with the UV layouts.

It's okay, I mostly wanted to do it as an experiment. I appreciate your help regardless!

My pleasure. I hope this one looks similar to the original one.
