Default Adding props to the poses
Hi!
I have a question about creating poses with built-in props/accessories (?).

I know that normally props can be added separately (either through buy mode or by assigning accessories in CAS), but I’m wondering if there’s a way to make a pose that already includes an object. For example something the sim is holding? Without having to assign it manually each time.

And i don’t mean importing the object into the pose during working in Blender, but rather linking an existing accessory/prop so that it appears automatically with the pose.

Is this even possible in The Sims 3? If yes, is there a tutorial for that? Tbh i couldn't find any info about it.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't tested it, since I haven't touched Blender in years, but this sounds exactly like what you are looking for (Poses/animations with persistent props). There are limitations on what game props you can use, however, but there is a tutorial somewhere on here about adding obj props to your anims.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just reread and saw you did specifically NOT want to import to Blender. Then no, I do not think that is possible without making your own mod for that purpose. I don't know of any out of the top of my head that does it. Such a mod would be a ton of work, the more I think about it. Doing it in Blender already IS the easiest way.
All else would require you to take into account the object ID used, its position in the world, its relative position to the actor at all times, tilting, etc. And all while running the game and having hundreds of other props around. That mod would need to exactly know what prop you want to save with that pose. It's a lot. Not impossible, but a lot. I could see it work with already existing animations (but depending on the object you add, it will just look silly, as hands and stuff will not be adjusted to that object). Creating entirely new poses that way and out of the game running is a hard no.

So, if I understand you correctly, you want a mod (there is no native feature for this) that allows you to place a prop in the game and that memorizes the actor's bone it was anchored to (the game probably knows nothing about the bones, they all tend to only be relevant in the animation software used), or its relative positioning, then saves this as a new pose (all from inside the gameplay, nonetheless), and all that, yes?
For statics this would be already a hassle, for animations it would be a nightmare. The main problem is that you now have two objects to take care of: The main actor and the object. The actor can play his static or idle anywhere in the world, but now you also have to keep track of the position of the extra object relative to the actor in the world. And even single actor poses (both static and animated) without objects are all made in Blender. Your best bet would be couple pose creators or modders from the adult community. There poses with interchangeable objects are quite common. But they all use Blender, as well, as a basis.
As I said before: It is not impossible. The game uses it for a lot of it's animations, like carrying books, plates and other objects around, but I doubt anyone has dug into the specifics of it.

The only modders I would trust with getting that to work have by now all retired or are dead. And even they all used Blender to make their custom poses. Nobody ever saw the need to create such a mod, since, well, you have Blender.
It's simple and it takes you 10 to 30 minutes for a static, an hour or more for an animation.

In conclusion: No, no one will (or ever did, to my knowledge) go through that effort. It's too much for too little. Except for the adult community.
The only people I could think about asking and are still alive and kicking (my best guess), would be Lyralei (she was the last to maintain the pose player mod itself, iirc), Onikikay (retired, but one of the best adult content modders out there for S3), Decorgal (retired, afaik, but did some work on adding props to poses), or Katie P (who is currently maintaining Onikikay's old mod and also makes animations). Katie might actually be your best bet here, if you don't mind being seen on loverslab.

Your main problem will still be that a pose that was meant to emulate holding a sheet of paper will look shite, when you replace the sheet of paper with a book or whatnot, or if your character isn't absolute default size every time. And if you always want it to be the same object, just make a pose in Blender with that object already in it. Blender is simple, really. Anyone can learn the basics of it in a day or so. The rig to work with already exists. You just need to "bend it in shape"
