Default How can I change Slots on Dressers/Items please?
Hello everyone, I've been getting into Maxis Match objects lately (because I tried making nice rooms using the furniture that came with the game and nearly tore my hair out! ).

I downloaded a nice dresser (drawers) (it is this one https://modthesims.info/d/585790/quaint-nursery.html), to match the Quaint bedroom items, but was unable to move my deco items onto it from the dresser (drawers) I had been using (the Chesterstick Cherry). (Sorry both dressers are black in the pic, but they are those meshes).

I have added a picture as an example, I had 2 pairs of sunglasses and some aftershave on the Chesterstick Cherry.

When I tried to do the same thing on the CC dresser, only 1 pair of sunglasses would place - the dresser does have 3 slots, but it did not like the blue sunglasses or the aftershave.

However, the bedside table does like those items, and I can place any of the 3 items on it.

Does anyone know how to change this in SimPE please? Do I need to edit something on the dresser itself, or is it the items, or both?

The "HL_QuaintDresser-SLAVED" file is set to deco items, while the others are set to end table (I think?). If you want them to match, it's an easy fix.

Go to the "Slot File (SLOT)" resource, click one of the "Container" lines, and look at the "Int7" column - you can change it in the "0x08+" tab to the right. Change it from 11 (deco object) to end table (8). Change the other two "Container" lines, too. Commit and save.

It should now accept larger items.
(Make sure to delete cache files before going ingame)

Some items might still be "too large" depending on individual settings and what they're cloned from (unless the settings have been changed). That one is a bit more involved (BHAVs, OBJD, depending on which tables/shelves you want them to place on), so if you can get away with changing the container object, that's probably the easiest.
