Default Sims randomly lost body meshes/textures in CAS, Body Shop and live mode. New user folder didn't help.
I'm dealing with a very strange Sims 2 issue and I'm out of ideas.

The problem started during a normal CAS session. I was scrolling through female bottoms and noticed one base game skirt thumbnail failed to load. When I clicked it, the Sim's body started breaking apart. After restarting the game, the issue persisted.

Symptoms:

Sims lose body parts (legs, torso, arms, chest, etc.)
Some Sims become transparent
Faces may appear as dark voids/masks with missing facial features
Clothing still displays correctly
Skin/body underneath is broken
Body Shop shows the same issue
Existing Sims in live mode show the same issue
CAS is affected immediately on launch

What I've already tested:

Removed Downloads completely
Generated a completely fresh Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 folder
Tested with a brand new neighborhood
Tested with existing neighborhoods
Cleared caches
Ran HoodChecker
Tested both Sims2RPC.exe and Sims2EP9.exe
Opened game package files in SimPE (including Textures.package) and they appear readable
Problem remains in CAS, Body Shop, and live mode

Additional observations:

Through RPC, faces are sometimes completely missing.
Through Sims2EP9.exe, I can sometimes see facial structure (eyes, mouth, nose outlines), but the body is still broken.
Graphics log reports Texture memory: 0MB.
The game detects Intel UHD 630, while the laptop also has an NVIDIA Quadro P600 installed.
The issue appeared suddenly in the middle of a play session. No new CC, mods, drivers, or game updates were installed beforehand.

At this point, I'm trying to determine whether this is:

A graphics/rendering issue
A corrupted game installation file
A body mesh/skin resource issue
Something else entirely

Both Gemini and ChatGPT couldn't ultimately help me. Has anyone seen Sims behave like this before?

Which game version are you using? If it's Legacy Collection, you may want to check out if this is a known bug.

Sounds like there's an issue with the game's ability to read the graphics card/chip, and/or a memory/RAM issue. Have you checked the GraphicRules file to see if it's set up properly? If the "texture memory" says 0 mb, that's absolutely a symptom of something going on.

If it's reading the chip and this one isn't powerful enough to run the game, this could cause weird graphic issues like this. Another potential issue is if the graphic card/chip is failing (especially if everything has worked fine for a while, up until now).

Can you attach your log file?
(If you copy/paste it, only the info above "Global Properties" is useful, the rest is just a list of active cheats)

Also, have you deleted anything while in CAS/Bodyshop? Some CC/default replace items that are linked to maxis items can potentially also corrupt/remove reources from within the game files if you try to delete them (it's always safest to delete items from the Downloads folder, unless you're 100% sure it's not linked to anything, and even then be a bit careful).

(I've seen similar-ish issues from not having GraphicRules set up properly + needing the 4GB patch + the game not working with the graphics card, due to a dual setup with chip+card and the game was trying to use the chip. Never had it happen suddenly in the middle of a play session, but after the initial setup, I occasionally had issues where the game failed to launch on the card, so I had to quit, fix and restart the game. I suspect it was some kind of Nividia bug, because the control panel would "disappear" occasionally)

So I have the Ultimate Collection, not Legacy Collection.

I did not delete anything from CAS or Body Shop. The issue started while I was scrolling through bottoms in CAS and clicked on a last item whose preview did not load. CAS froze badly, then the Sim's lower body/legs disappeared, then only the head remained, and after restarting the game all Sims started showing broken body parts/textures.

What I already tried/tested:

Removed recent CC and also tested with the entire Downloads folder disabled.
Deleted cache files.
Tested with a completely fresh Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder.
Checked Body Shop: the issue appears there too.
Opened an existing lot: live Sims are affected too, not just CAS.
Checked some game files in SimPE, including Skins.package. It opens and the resources look readable.
The game is launched through Sims2RPC and the 4GB patch is enabled.

The config-log does show Texture memory: 0MB, which seems very suspicious. The laptop has Intel UHD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA Quadro P600, but the game log only reports Intel UHD 630.

Also, after this issue appeared, I got a Windows BSOD with VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR while watching a simple video, so now I’m wondering if this may be a graphics driver / GPU detection issue rather than corrupted game files.

I’ll attach the log section above Global Properties. Please tell me if there is anything specific I should change in Graphic Rules / Video Cards, or if this looks more like a driver/GPU problem.
