Default Trouble changing Catalogue Description for defaulted Objects
Hello, apologies for posting on here with another issue so soon!

I have made some defaults for my game (eg. changing a single bed into another single bed, a mesh and texture default).

I also changed the Price in the OBJD, in a separate file, by following the instructions here https://modthesims.info/t/614988, from iCad's tutorial, and also tried to change the Catalogue Description in the CTSS in the same way (in the same file as the price change). I put the file in C:\Program Files (well mine is in my Games folder on my C Drive, but you get the drift)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 <Your Latest EP>\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins.

The Price changes all worked fine, but the Catalogue Descriptions were hit and miss - some worked, but some didn't, it would show in SimPE as changed, but then in game, the Catalogue Description was still showing for the original item that I replaced.

Does anyone know how to fix it please?

Could be you have other files that are interfering. Any mod/DR that contain OBJDs for maxis items is really a DR for that OBJD. Same with descriptions, meshes, etc.

You can only have one replacement for each item. If you have more, the game chooses the last read item.

(Recategorizers, mods for changing prices...)

Thanks, I think I do have some conflicts, as I also noticed some CC has disappeared, so I'll do 50/50 and see what happens.

As for the Catalogue edits, I think I will delete my old ones and start again from scratch to see if that helps (I have 8 wrong ones so it won't take me too long).

Going on holiday soon, so I can only take one laptop, I might just play the game whilst I'm away, as I've forgotten how to actually play it

If you want to change several things for one object, it can be a good idea to do all the changes in the same file. The more files you spread the changes over, the higher the chance problems will happen.

If you want to change CC (descriptions, price, etc.), do changes directly in the file instead of trying to make an extra file for it.

Disappearing CC could be GUID conflicts (disappearing maxis items usually are GUID conflicts).
Me? Sarcastic? Never.

I'd guess that the ones not changing also have a version in the overrides folder. Try placing it in that folder and loading after the overrides.package?
