Default Serving plate issues
Hello everyone. I wanted to make come back to my 2010s and remember the meshing duty. And now my target is serving platter.
Tried to re-utilise Pinappleforest's serving platter default replacement in order to make it thick and globe-shaped.m like those that are carved from the tree.

Mlkshape is okay
SimPE preview is also fine

But in game there is no good

There are some spots on edge vertexes. Guess it is caused by normal map.

I saw similar question here. I tried to regroup in Milkshape. Didn't help.

I don't know what was wrong. Maybe because Idid not use UniMesh tools& I really don't know how to use it on default replacements. SO I exported and imported this as obj. file

Please help. Regards Vic ^_^

Did you also check that the UVmapping was alright? It looks a bit more like UVmap/texture issues to me.

Issues with normals are often much easier to spot on a mesh when it's greytoned, since you only see the shadowing, and any texture issues are eliminated from the guesswork. If there are issues left after the normals look fine for the greytoned mesh, the issue is most likely in the texture or UVmap (or both).

The problem I still don't have a program which fitted my expectations in terms of UV-mapping.
I knew and learned how to create and edit UV-maps in 3DsMax but I have no such soft any more.

Blender is decent with UVmaps, at least once you get used to the program.

I learned meshing and UVmapping with 3D Max too, but it's a good long while ago. Took me a while to get the hang of Blender, but it's an alright replacement even if the UI feels like a bit of a mess from what I was used to. I'm still getting by with Youtube tutorials and searching up tools/how-to's (there are plenty, and lots of good starter tutorials). I'd prefer 3D Max, but that thing is expensive (and now cloud-based, last time I checked - yeah, no, thanks )
