The Sloughi, also known as the Arabian Greyhound, is a decendant of the Egyptian Greyhound and has been known since the very dawn of civilization. Unlike their modern cousins, the racing Greyhounds, the Sloughi was used for hunting and for war. The modern dogs still retain the hunting characteristics of theri ancestors.
