Hospitality Career - Adults Only ** UPDATE! Custom Icon Added! **
The Hospitality Career does not overwrite any base or custom careers. It does use the Business career Icon, but I may be doing an update with its own custom icon once I become more familiar with how that works. It does have a reward object -- the golf putter that is used by the base Business career. (Really, it was fitting since I'm fairly sure that's what my boss plays with when he's actually at the hotel.)
This is EP ready! I play with all to date expansion packs and encountered no problems.
You can find the Teen/Elder Version here.
There is a chance card for each level! They are written in first person since writing it the other way around just felt kind of weird to me and didn't seem right.
** UPDATE: June 13, 2007 **
The Custom Icon has been added! I've uploaded a second zip of the career for those who want to redownload. For those who don't care about having a custom icon, then use the original download.
Descriptions of each career level is below. Enjoy and happy Simming!
Career Levels
Level 1--Housekeeper
Hours: 9 AM – 3 PM, Wed – Sun
You’ve got your foot in the door! The wages aren’t much and unfortunately you’re at the bottom of the food chain. You’ll spend your days immersed in all the glorious details of cleaning up after guests and insuring each and every room is nothing short of perfect. You’ll have limited interaction with guests, but make sure you stay on top of your game when you meet one!
Level 2--Porter
Hours: 3 PM – 12 AM, Thurs – Mon
You’re starting to move up! You’ve come out of cleaning the hotel rooms to essentially being the hotel gopher. Driving the airport shuttle, running items to rooms, fixing various problems with the hotel rooms, escorting lost guests, and cleaning public areas of the hotel are only the start of your duties! The pay is a bit better, but the hours are longer. Make sure to keep your energy up and head into work in a good mood – you’ll need both to keep your sanity.
Level 3--Night Auditor
Hours: 11 PM – 7 AM, Mon – Fri
Welcome to the graveyard shift! You’ve moved on from cleaning and being a gopher to the sensational task of being the night auditor. It’s time to shift gears and start thinking about getting up the company ladder. Logic and charisma are going to serve you well here – your interactions with guests will start becoming more frequent and you’ll need to make sure all the daily numbers add up. It also might be a good idea to have the coffee ready when the boss gets there in the morning.
Level 4--Front Desk Agent
Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM, Tues – Sat
After hard work and horrible hours, you’ve managed to secure a place at the desk as a Front Desk Agent. The hours and pay are better and you can forget about wondering how you’re going to keep yourself awake at night. You are the face of the company, though – you’re responsible for greeting guests, checking guests in and out, answering phone lines, booking reservations, and handling any problems or complaints guests call down about. If nothing else, you’ll learn how to keep on your toes and make quick decisions!
Level 5--Front Desk Supervisor
Hours: 10 AM – 6 PM, Sun, Mon, Thurs, Fri, Sat
Welcome to the first level of management! While your duties have not changed much, you now get to keep an eagle out on your co-workers and you report directly to the Front Desk Manager – and man is their job looking pretty good! The hours have changed, but you’ve gotten a nice pay increase. Keep doing a great job and pretty soon you’ll be up the next step in your ladder of success. Remember to keep those guests happy!
Level 6--Front Desk Manager
Hours: 9 AM – 6 PM, Mon – Fri
No longer do you have to spend your days behind the front desk – now you’re behind your own desk! Congratulations! Don’t spend too much time soaking in the promotion, you’ve got a world of problems to deal with: scheduling, staff conflicts, major guest problems, soothing your bosses’ feathers and making sure the lobby and front desk is looking (and acting!) impeccable. Keep on your toes and who knows... you may be headed over to sales.
Level 7--Director of Sales
Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM, Mon – Fri
Welcome to the higher echelon of the hotel! You’re now away from the front desk and get to thrive in the nitty gritty of profit engineering. You’re responsible for luring in business via meetings, weddings, receptions, and banquets, as well as advertising your hotel as a great place for groups! You’ll need a bit of a silver tongue for this job and be able to multi task through a myriad of different projects.
Level 8--Assistant General Manager
Hours: 8 AM – 6 PM, Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat
Welcome to one of those final ladders. You’re the General Manager’s right hand and the Owner’s left hand. Don’t be surprised if you get middle of the night calls from either! Your days are spent overseeing what the General Manager doesn’t have time for, and making sure he looks good to the Owner while also keeping yourself in tip top shape. Be careful, though, there are a plenty of people in the hotel who’d love to see you fall before you get any higher! Make sure you’ve got plenty of friends for support and keep those skills up.
Level 9--General Manager
Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM, Mon – Fri
The hotel is a castle and you are its overlord – almost. You report only to the owner, who only makes brief appearances (thankfully) and are responsible for the entire hotel. You’ll be overseeing every department, making sure the hotel looks as it did in the golden days and that those golden days are still happening! Keep those profits up, hotel guests and employees happy and you’re on your way to really being the overlord.
Level 10--Owner
Hours: 10 PM – 2 PM, Mon – Wed
After long years of being in the hotel business, the owner has finally sold out ... to you! You’re now the overlord of your impressive castle. Kick back and enjoy! You’ll receive daily reports from the General Manager, be able to frequently schmooze with high profile guests and enjoy your wine spritzers next to the pool. Way to go!

About Me
I am open for requests, but I only take CAREER Requests. Sorry, but I don't delve into clothing, objects, hacks and et cetera. There are many very talented and skilled players here that do and I happily leave all that to them. ;)
If, however, you are one of those nifty people who make clothes and objects and have something, or want to make something, that would fit into one of my projects, I'd love to talk with you. =) (Even if the career is labeled as finished and you've got an outfit that'd be smashing with it or a fantastic career reward object thing you have, send me a message and we'll have tea.) I love collaborating with others, especially when it comes to making something that a whole lot of others can enjoy.
If you make a request for a career that has already been covered in some detail, then I'm not going to honor the request. Simple as that. Other than that, I'm pretty much open to anything.
Happy Simming!
** August 2009 **
I am not currently creating nor updating any careers. I have loose plans to rejoin the S2 creating community once my PC actually deems to like me enough to support more than one hour of play time before it gets all snappy.
