Yes you've heard right folks, the luxury of Isle Delfino's reknowned Hotel Delfino has finally branched into the word of the Sims! If your Sims are long overdue for a well-deserved trip to a tropical island getaway hotel, then now is their chance! The luxury of Hotel Delfino's second branch cannot be denied; once your Sims step inside they will believe they are in paradise!

IMPORTANT: If you're not very willing at the moment to read my long description about the lot, please scroll down to the Notes/Tips section and read what I've written about how I suggest to use the lot and anything I recommend you do to make your life at Hotel Delfino a little easier.

This lot was NOT made with Bon Voyage.

Description:

1st Floor: The first floor contains the Hotel's main entrance lobby, a breathtaking site indeed. The main Tiki totem in the centre of the room is enough to catch anyone's eye; to the left is the front desk as well as a small sitting area. The door to the casino remains closed off just like on Isle Delfino; sadly, the Hotel has had a history of bad luck when it comes to hiring worthy technicians.

To the right of the main entrance is a souvenir shop where your Sims can buy stuffies for their kids of Isle Delfino's hero, Mario, as well as other plushies from Mario's homeland, Mushroom Kingdom. The gift shop also sells fresh, oversized fruit for your Sims to enjoy. There is also a larger sitting area next to it and public washrooms can be found near the main stairwell.

2nd Floor: The second floor has three rooms for your Sims to spend their time in (all including private bathrooms) as well as a dining area and a small bakery. I did try to make this Hotel like the one in Super Mario Sunshine, but in SMS there is one room that is very much a wasted storage room, and the room next to it had a hottub in it which I could not fit in due to an issue with space within the hotel, so I turned that area into the dining area and bakery since Sims... well, Sims need to eat, and the guests of Hotel Delfino on Isle Delfino didn't seem to mind eating only fruit all the time... There is also a small sitting/plant room on this floor as well.

Be sure to keep your eyes open for similarities between the Sims version of Hotel Delfino and the original from SMS. Although the rooms seem to be quite different, there are some strangely similar decorations about that only the dedicated Super Mario Sunshine fan will recognize.

3rd Floor: The third floor contains four rooms to stay in, all with private bathrooms also, and an indoor pool. Again, some objects may look out of place but really have a purpose to relate to SMS, like the bookshelf that's halfway in the wall and the out-of-place posters. Of course, you can remove these items if you wish. There is also an elevator in the top corner that leads to the fourth floor (see below). As for the indoor pool I'm sure you are wondering about, it is purely for show. The pool ladder cannot be used unless you add more flooring in somewhere, and if you do manage to get your sims down the ladder, they will disappear until you tell them to come out. It's just for show, since I know of no way to build a pool on the third floor with clear room underneath. Sorry folks!

4th Floor: To make the hotel look proportioned, I just had to add a fourth floor or it looked much too short. This also gives you the benefit of having a lot of extra room! There are two washrooms, a small eating area, and a kitchen (I didn't bother including a floorplan since the floor is nearly empty). There is a large empty area where you can build whatever you wish, whether it be a games room, employee lounge, a gym, etc. I recommend leaving this floor (or at least part of it) for employees who are either on their breaks or are baking goods to restock the bakery. This way, wandering guests won't find their way up to where a normal hotel guest in real life wouldn't.

Notes/Tips:

- to see the palm tree through to the third floor, go to Options and turn Object Hiding off. However, this might make your game laggy if you are on a slower computer

- I made this lot residential because I found it to be best run when Sims actually live in it. As a business, Sims would come to the hotel for only a few hours and gather in one bedroom to watch television. If you move several "random" Sims into the hotel where they actually live, your system will be much more organized and you will be able to concentrate on running a business

- if you are interested in hiring employees to manage Hotel Delfino as a home business, one person will be needed to manage the till at the souvenir shop, and one person will be needed to manage the till in the bakery. The front desk is pretty much for show and nobody is needed there. Another employee may be needed to restock the souvenir shop as well as the goods in the bakery

- lock specific doors for family/employees. To keep "guest" Sims out of the fourth floor I locked the door leading to the elevator on the third floor. Of course, you may have the fourth floor open to all Sims if you wish

- hire a maid to keep the hotel clean

- the two dolphin statues at the front of the hotel need trimming, and they look absolutely absurd if you don't stay on top of them. Hire a gardener if you want those twin dolphins always looking their best, it won't cost you much. The other flowers on the lot don't need watering or trimming

- in most cases Sims will be able to watch their televisions from their beds. I put a TV in whichever rooms I could, but in some rooms there just wasn't enough room. Even if the TV is on a wall horizontal to your Sims, they will actually turn their heads to watch the TV, although they will still point the remote directly in front of them. However, in most cases, Sims will need to stand in order to turn the TV off

- the pink sunset seen in the main screenshot is chris997's Weather Atmosphere and can be found here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=187229

- if you want your Sims to truly indulge in the Mario lifestyle, you can have them try out The_French_Sim's Goomba Meal! Delicious, nutricious, and served in the head of a Pirahna Plant. I highly recommend it! You can find this scrumptious download here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=189954

Custom Content NOT Included:
- 4ESF Bedroom 13 Plant: http://www.4eversimfantasy.net/bedroom13.htm
Download "Plant 2". This plant looks nice in lobby corners on all floors.
