The Quarter-House Apartments

The Quarter-House is large self contained building that contains four spacious and highly adaptable/playable contemporary style apartments on the first and second floors, and a communal recreation area on the ground floor.

Exterior features of this lot include 2 driveways and a basic landscaped area at the front of the building. It also benefits from a seated BBQ area, small basketball court and a playground with playhouse, climbing bars and a slide.

The rental cost is 2897-2912 per apartment

Each apartment can decadently house 1 sim, generously house 2 sims, comfortably house 4 and practically house 5-6

Ground Floor-
3 rooms and a Foyer with two elevators

The ground floor is decorated in coloured stucco with stone and wooden flooring. There are large decorative windows to the front of the building and large wall lights in every room

Floors 1&2- Apartments 1-4

All apartments are proportioned and decorated in the same manner. Walls are decorated with plain off white stucco, there are basic ceiling lights, a light wood parquet floor and large windows throughout. Each dwelling is accessed from the hallway and has a garbage chute next to the door.

Apartments feature:

Entry/ Reception room which is large enough to be furnished as a small TV/living room or large study area
1 master bedroom with en suite shower room, WC and built in mirrored wardrobe.
1 secondary double bedroom
Kitchen/dining area- separated by a paintable half wall
Kitchen contains cooker, trash compactor, dishwasher, fridge.
Dining area with small table and four chairs
Bathroom with shower room, bathtub, sink and WC
1 Living room or study (could also be used as a 3rd bedroom) with patio door leading to the balcony which faces the front of the property


This lot contains no custom content and requires all expacs up to Apartment Life. It is also my very first uploaded lot.

Driveways and Cars
This lot does contain 2 driveways, and they seem to work fine for me. I tested them on more than one lot and on more than on computer. I even gave a packed lot to my boyfriend who is a great gamer but an utter noob at Sims. He had no trouble with the lot at all and the cars work perfectly and have caused no in game issues.

I learned several things about driveways by trial and error. Firstly it is not possible to place cars on a stand- alone driveway on a rented lot once you have moved your sim in there. Well perhaps it is but I just have no idea how.

However- in the process of building this lot, I placed the cars on the driveway saved the game...then converted the lot to an apartment then saved again. This seems to have resulted in my sims being able to use the cars..without a single error from a freshly unpackaged lot, with no need to rezone and employ cheats. As long as the sim has moved in then the car will behave normally as it would on a residential lot.


So it's up to you...if you need/want to place cars or delete the driveways on this lot..here's how you go about it:

PRESS
CTRL+SHIFT+C (bringing up the console)

TYPE
changeLotZoning residential

SAVE the game and go back to neighbourhood

Re enter the lot

You will now be able to delete the driveways...or place cars on the driveways as you wish. If the car refuses to place on the driveway, delete the driveway and replace it with a new one.

You will also be able to modify the building as you wish, but I'd advise you to read the build guide here to help avoid any unpleasantness.

SAVE and go back to the neighbourhood.

Your lot should be an apartment now, you may want to check it one last time before you move any sims into it. When you go in there you should see the cars on the apartment lot if you put them there.


So...feel free to use and abuse my lot, modify do what you like with it...I made it for fun and it's turned out to be pretty practical and an easy lot to play. I'm sure it can be improved vastly- it's very simple to say the least


Finally here is a fraps movie I made for fun. it contains Bella Goth in the lot going about her business. It's pretty awful but you can see the apartment layout in more detail which I hope excuses its badness.
