Before American Girls, before CabbagePatch Kids, a small girl burst into her father's art studio, trailing a battered rag doll behind her. Panting, she told Daddy about discovering the faceless doll in Grandmother's attic. Laying aside his afternoon's cartoon, the father picked up the doll. He studied her face for a moment before picking up his cartooning pen and deftly applying a new, whimsical face. He suggested that Grandmother might be enlisted to sew on another shoe button to take care of a missing eye. Then, reaching for a volume of poetry behind his desk, the father browsed through several by poet and family friend, James Whitcomb Riley. Compressing the titles of two of his favorites -- "The Raggedy Man" and "Little Orphan Annie" -- he asked his daughter, "What if we call your new doll Raggedy Ann? ..."

And a legend was born.

When I was very young, I was never without my Raggedy Ann, and now my little Sim girls can share the same magic I experienced.

This doll is a recolor of Natrobo's Doll, and needs her mesh in order to show up in the game. Because all my own efforts at creating the little pinafore were shamefully pathetic, I borrowed the adorable pinafore from TiggeryPum's recolor. My most abject thanks to both of these very talented creators.

- You may alter this file to your heart's content for personal use in your own game. Since this is just a simple recolor, I'm not sure why anyone would want to recolor the recolor, but if you really want to, go for it!
