LUX - a modern house for the modern family
Okay..ramble time! LUX is a dramatic but simple statement, full of clean lines, metals, and monochromatic themes. It is a home foremost for the aesthetically-conscious family who refuses to be relegated to cookie-cutter housing.
...I think i should be a real estate agent, ha. Anyways.
LUX is fully fleshed out with an open plan first floor featuring a living area, a kitchen, and a sunken dining area.
The stairway ascends to a hallway paneled with floor to ceiling windows; the master bedroom and single/guest room are connected by a full bath.
Furnishings are modern, mostly black and white with hints of ice blue here and there.
The spacious backyard holds a pond for your outdoorsy-inclined Sims if they choose to fish; or you could eliminate the pond and construct a garden plot or pool. Either way, there's a fair amount of room for expansion...and for a driveway. The beautiful views make it ideal for an artist, writer, or musician in need of inspiration.
Furnished, the home will run your pixel dollies about $75k; unfurnished, about $50k.
You'll need to grab a sofa from Stylist Sims here -- the very, very, very last set.
Glitch alert: because of the way the sunken dining room was constructed, there's, uhm, about 6 tiles right above it with no roof. I wasn't able to fix it, which is why its still there. But unless it bothers you so much that you can't look at the house without your eyes falling out, it should be okay (: In a related note, this is the tutorial I used to create the sunken dining room.
Enjoy! Comments, criticisms, and any bugs you find would be very much appreciated.

Install Instructions
1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file.
2. Select the .sims3pack file you got from extracting.
3. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
5. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Select the house icon, find the lot in the list, and tick the box next to it. Then press the Install button below the list.
6. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the lot to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
7. Run the game, and find your lot in Edit Town, in the premade lots bin.
Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.

About Me
Anyways. I love architecture and design, and Frank Lloyd Wright is my idol. I have a thing for minimalism and modern styles so you'll see that a lot in my...lots. (: Download them, mess with them however you want! Just don't reupload them anywhere, please -- they do take a while to conceptualize, build, and tweak to perfection so I ask you to please respect my work (:
I'm working on some smaller, starter-style lots at the moment; expect some soon!
