Simtopia: Community Set #3 - Simtopia Airport Set (No CC and CC Versions)

F.Y.I. - IMPORTANT Tidbits! PLEASE READ!
( Nothing Dangerous. Just things that are good to know!)

Tidbit A
*The "ALL" zip contains ALL 6 Simtopia Airport lots WITHOUT CUSTOM CONTENT. If you desire the CUSTOM CONTENT FREE VERSIONS, download the "ALL" file. If you download the "ALL", the airplanes and airport decor will NOT be included.

Tidbit B
*The Individual Lot downloads are minimally decorated with cameras, travel images, decorative vehicles, airplanes and other airport decor. So, if you want to download the lots complete with airport decor, download the individual lot files (separate Parts 1 -6 ).

* This airport was designed to fit all 6 lots perfectly in my Simtopia "Municipal District" neighborhood which can be found here (along with 4 other Simtopia Districts):

Tidbit D
*Be flexible and make these lots work for your neighborhood needs. Mix and match to fit the hoods you have. You don't "have to" use all 6 lots in your smaller hoods. I played with a couple of combinations of setting them up and the layout works well if you use a variety of setups.

1 Lot Setups
-Use Lot 2 (the Departure Building Lot) ONLY
-Use Lot 5 (the Arrival Building Lot) ONLY

2 Lot Setups
-Use Lot 2 (the Departure Building Lot) and Lot 3 (the Control Tower Lot)
-Use Lot 5 (the Arrival Building Lot) and Lot 6 (the Hangar Building Lot)
-Place Lot 2 (the Departure Building Lot) and Lot 5 (the Arrival Building Lot)across the street from one another

4 Lot Setup
-Use the central 4 lots: Lot 2 (the Departure Building Lot) & Lot 3 (the Control Tower Lot) on one side of the street AND Lot 5 (the Arrival Building Lot) and Lot 6 (the Hangar Building Lot) on the other side of the street.

NOTE:
Most of my combinations don't include the Parking Lots (Lots 1 and 4), but basic Parking Lots are not hard to make at all. Although I will include a variety of pre-made Parking Lots in Simtopia Set #9.



*The images in this download also include 2 simple "TuToRIaLs" which I will discuss below. The "AirportA-LAYOUT" image shows you how to set up your lots in your Simtopia "MUNICIPAL" District hood and the "AirportB-DECO" image shows you how to decorate your Airport using Neighborhood effects and decorations. These images are included in the zip files.



Use the image below to set up your 6 Lot Simtopia Airport in the Simtopia "Municipal District".


Image 1-
I used the Simtopia Municipal District NEIGHBORHOOD found here http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=373905 . The hi-lited area is where the airport lots are to be placed.

Image 2-
This is a close-up of the exact section that I used to place my airport lots. I decided to place mine in the middle, but you may wish to use the upper or lower areas. My train station will be placed near the airport.

Image 3-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 1 with the arrow facing right just as it is in the image.

Image 4-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 2 with the arrow facing down just as it is in the image. Make sure you align it evenly with lot 1.

Image 5-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 3 with the arrow facing down just as it is in the image. Make sure you align it evenly with lot 2.

Image 6-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 4 with the arrow facing right just as it is in the
image. Make sure you align it evenly with lot 1.

Image 7-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 5 with the arrow facing up just as it is in the
image. Make sure you align it evenly with lot 4.

Image 8-
Place Simtopia Airport Lot 6 with the arrow facing up just as it is in the
image. Make sure you align it evenly with lot 5.



Once you place your lots in your hood using the above image, here is a suggestion for decorating your neighborhood to bring your airport to life within the hood view.


Image 1 -In the neighborhood view click on the "Decorations" Icon (Trees), then click the "Effects" Icon (Rainbow with Hot Air Balloon), then click the "Terrain" Icon (Grey Square). While you cannot place the "Terrain" on the lots you can work it in between the lots as in Image 1. Move over the area between lots 1 and 2 & 4 and 5 to place the Terrain block as it looks in the picture. It will highlight red in areas you cannot place the block, but the color will normalize in blue if you can place it.

Image 2 - Move over the area between lots 2 and 3 & 5 and 6 to place the Terrain block as it looks in the picture. It will highlight red in areas you cannot place the block, but the color will normalize in blue if you can place it.

Image 3 - Place 2 blocks to the right end of your airport (lots 3 and 6).

Image 4 - Place 2 terrain blocks to the left end of your airport (lots 1 and 4).

Image 5 - Add neighborhood trees, bushes, rocks and other items to define your Airport Zone.



OTHER INFORMATION

*Maxis Reward and Aspiration objects have been used to bring a bit of life to each lot in a variety of creative ways. Community Sims will not rush to use most of them. However, they are useable for your Sims. This works out well because your Sims will not have to wait to use most of the Rewards and Aspiration objects included!

*F.Y.I. - Simtopia Airport Lot 1 is a little smaller than all the other lots. I did this so that it could fit perfectly in the space I chose in the Simtopia Municipal District.

*All lots have been thouroughly tested to ensure playability and that objects included will not conflict with normal game play.

*Be sure to click on all images below for more details!

*Special permission was granted for the use of a few more images by the gracious MODS here at MTS seeing that I include 4 or more lots in most of my downloads and 8 images is standard for uploading 1 lot, but for 4 it can at times be challenging to do so. I am most appreciative of this. Thank you!

*Non-zippable items (maxis recolors) are included in the zips. Be sure to add them to your downloads folders. Credit will be noted in the Custom Content Area.



ABOUT THIS SET:
This is set 3 of 30 Simtopia Community Lots. It contains 6 separate lots that can be combined to form one large Simtopia Airport. The individual lots can also be mixed and matched to create smaller Simtopia Airports. The main 2 lots are Parts 2 and 5. They contain the Arrival and Departure Buildings and most of the activities. Although, there are a few surprises in the smaller lots as well that add a bit of authenticity to the airport!
