Here is something little and simple for your violinist Sims; 6 recolours of the Simavarious VII Concert Violin in different wood stain finishes. It does require The Sims 2: FreeTime.

HOW TO APPLY THE RECOLOURS TO THE VIOLINS:
Apparently the recolours aren’t available from the buy catalog like most objects, so to get my recolours: Buy the violin, place it on the lot (wherever you wish) and then, select the “design tool” (highlighted in green) there you should see 6 options for my 6 recolours. It costs $15 to update.
